Following the collapse of the government chaos rained, soon a number of factions formed, trying to gain dominance. Some of the factions were annihilated, others grew in strength, now it can no longer be called skirmishes this is war.
Yes this is post apocalyptic, Nuclear war and bio weapons, nothing like super mutants running around though.
Factions
Faction Name: The Gunslingers
Numbers 14,000
Description: they are one of the larger and better equipped factions. They rely predominantly on rifles and pistols however it is not unknown for them to use heavier weapons. They control a fair number of factories and a military outpost. Most people live in or near the factories. They have a solid alliance with the Raiders to fight against the Desperadoes
Faction Moto: "Get the shot off first, then they can't strike back"

Faction Name: The Raiders
Numbers: 10,000
Description: Though midsized and only with a medium armament they have the largest number of light vehicles. However they have few high quality weapons. They do not have a region and instead wander, setting up camps when they stop and raiding other factions for resources. They have a solid alliance with the gunslingers to fight against the Desperadoes.
Faction moto: "Speed is everything, hit the hard and fast they hit them again."

Faction Name: Bloody Rain
Numbers: 18,000
Description: The second largest faction and among the most aggressive. They have few allies and many enemies however with the Rise of the Desperadoes they have ceased their raids and attacks on the other faction in the face of this new danger. They have few quality weapons. They control a large area which though could have been productive has been mostly reduced to rubble
Faction Moto: "Those who stand before us will be cut down, and the blood that rains from their many wounds will make us grow stonger." (please note, the last part IS NOT literal, it's a metaphor.)

Enemies: All but Marauders, especially The Desperados
Faction Name: The Marauders
Numbers: 6,000
Description: They are extremely well armed and have a significant ability to produce weapons however they are the smallest faction. They share borders with Bloody Rain and have a loose alliance with them. However, it is only an alliance of convenience, were The Desperadoes to be defeated it would fall apart.
Faction Moto: "Put some heavy firepower down their gullet, we'll see how much they want to mess with us."
Allies: Bloody Rain
Enemies: The Desperadoes, occasionally fights with other factions
Faction Name: The Desperadoes
Numbers: 20,000
Description: They are both the largest and the best armed faction, controlling much of the military hardware that was left in the region. However they stand alone, outnumbered by more than two to one and with no allies. They were actually named after an odd metaphor (see moto). They control a few factories as well as a military base and a pair of outposts. However they only came to control this territory within the last few years, having forced Bloody Rain and the Marauders from it. Their goal is what got them the gunslingers and raiders as enemies. Their goal is to create a new government and restore order. However this would remove all the other factions from power. Many of their leaders are in fact survivors from the old government and most of their soldiers are survivors from the old military.
Faction Moto: "This is mob rule, and those that rule make the laws do they not? Well we seek to make order in this place, that means that we are the outlaws to these rulers. We are the desperadoes of chaos."

Description: A bolt action sniper rifle, it is highly accurate and a head shot will kill even through a combat helmet. However it is prone to jamming and hard to reload.

Description: rocket propelled explosion, it is however only of mediocre accuracy, takes a while to reload, but it takes next to no training to use.

Weapon Name: Spray 'n Pray
Description: an extremely fast shooting SMG that is however extremely innacurate and is rarely able to put more that 2 consecutive shots on a target more than 50 feet away, an may empty and entire clip and miss every shot when firing at a target as little as 250 feet away however it is extremely effective in close quarters combat. It however can be wielded with only one hand

Description: A relatively accurate assault rifle, can alternate between full auto and 3 shot burst.

Description: a highly accurate rifle,bolt action but without the jamming problem of the eagle eye and slightly faster to reload

Description: A highly accurate assault rifle, with a scope it can even be used to snipe although it isn't the best. It can be switched between semi auto, full auto and three shot burst.

Description: A full auto assault rifle with an underslung grenade launcher. However it lacks the accuracy of the Recon

Description: A light machine gun which though quite accurate is heavy and hard to move around.

Description: A light machine gun with an impressive rate of fire but mediocre accuracy. It's somewhat lighter than the Hurricane

Description: a grenade launcher requiring it be reloaded after each shot. It has relatively short range but is still quite useful.

Description: A very large caliber magnum, capable of killing a man with a single shot to the chest. However it has intense recoil and only 6 shots when full loaded (it is a revolver). Though it is semiautomatic few people shot it like it is seeing as how even at close range a second shot immediately after the first will likely miss

Description: Inaccurate but full auto with a large clip and quick reload time. Very good for drive-bys if one hand is busy with something else

Description: the pistol is very accurate and has a decent amount of power to it. It is surprisingly small given its qualities and is designed be quickly drawn

Description: A silenced pistol with a fair degree of accuracy and semi automatic. It has a degree of stopping power almost on par with the desperado. It has a setting it which it produces a high pitched scream which may scare or disorient opponents.

Description: A silenced pistol with only a limited degree of accuracy and a small clip
