Lemme explain why changing your username on Roblox is not a bad idea.
I'll start by providing a rebuttal to common arguements.
1) "People could change their names to something inappropriate." -So... does that somehow mean that the Roblox cencores will be disabled if they change their name? Also, it's not like you couldn't already do this. Changing your name would be just like making a new account, the only difference is that you're only going through the portion of the process that requires you to pick a name.
2) "People won't recognize you." -What if a PM was sent to all your friends that your name was changed so they would recognize you? Also, there could be an added feature to the People section will notify a player whom searches your old name, that the person they're looking for has changed their name to something else.
3) "Players could change their names to bad words and then change their name back." -That wouldn't be a problem if the idea presented in "2)" was enabled.
If you have any objections as to why there shouldn't be a name change feature. Post them below and I will do my best to refute your claims and possibly shed some light on the situation.

If you could only change your username one time. Then if someone were to make theirs bad, they would not be able to change it back. |

Agree but instead of changing for free they should have a really epic username list that shows all the available names for a certain ammout of tickets or robux |

But, what if there name would go under review before it was allowed to be passed?
For example, "[Insert new username here]" - *username goes under review* - "You're username has been (accepted/declined)." |

Hmm... Maybe it should just be like the Account Creation process, where you pick a name and it says, "Sorry, this username has been taken (insert ideas for username here)." |

You can't change your name to Telamon, it's already taken. The idea is that if someone tried that, the list would come up saying, "This name has already been taken, you could try Telamon(X amount of numbers)." |

Yea but what if another moderator changed their name and someone else got that name and started going around roblox saying hey im a mod look i even have a moderator name well what if someone did that??? |

What about logging in? Your username may have been changed after you logged out. Then you think you were hacked. Eventually it will happen to everyone if they change their username. |

Chances are, a mod won't change their name. Even if they did and someone decided to take it, it'd be pretty apparent that they are a fake by how they speak and what their profile stats are. |

You request to change your name. You wait. You keep waiting. It doesn't get accepted yet. Then you log out. Overnight your name is accepted. You can't login because you fail to realize you changed your name yesterday. You think you're hacked. |

The idea is that you get the notification when you log in as your old name, so that problem won't occur.

No. I see no reason to keep making these kinds of threads, everyone has said no, and will say no. Stop trying to make it happen. There are too many reasons to state why.
But I will state the most obvious.
YOU CHOOSE THE NAME! If you don't like it, its your own fault! You picked it, you clicked "next" then "finish" while making your acount. there is a back button, you could have changed your mind.
If you don't like your account name, TOO BAD! Create a new one! You can transfer your stuff to the other account, it isn't that hard. |

The reason why this would be necessary would be for people whom have made a name when they were younger and want to change it.
Also, if you look up "Change your username" under builderman's auto PMs, you will see that it is a possible feature to be added in the future.

File transfer all my stuff to my account? Aside from my places, I can't transfer my money or hats without BC. And if a hat you have isn't limited and you want to transfer it over to the other account, you can't, Roblox has made it so that it is not possible.
PS: If you're going to bring up the Hat Trading system, don't bother, it's going to be made for BC. |
