Hello ROBLOXians, zenongreat here!
I had this Idea last night, cause I was thinking of XBox360 and I thought about the Headset where you can talk to another player through the game/computer.
Instead of having to Type what you want to say, you can choose if you want to talk on a HeadSet ( If you have one ). I know this will allow others to hear your voice, but it still is faster then Typing.
Team Games:
You would only be able to talk to the players on your Team and make comments for your Team to win, also make tactics and more!
Non-Team Games:
You would be able to talk to Everyone in the server except for Guests. The players without HeadSets can still have their volume on and you can hear the player with the HeadSet talking.
Many may like this Idea, but it could also raise money for ROBLOX.
Raising Money for ROBLOX:
ROBLOX can make the HeadSet and sell it in US Stores like the GameCards, except it would cost atleast 15-20$. Hope you all like this idea : )

Sounds GREAT. There should be a filter option though, or else you would have to listen to a bunch of little noobs whine and cuss. The other problem is that it gives people an ENTIRE new way to spam and it would be hard to filter bad words. A good idea would be to have everything you say be recorded and archived so people can just report and the admins could play back what they said to make sure. |

Voice chat in Roblox is a very very very bad idea. Let me give an example. Older players like me who play TF2, you've encountered little-kid micspammers, right? Even when they're not deliberately spamming, it's hard to understand what they're saying because of what the microphone does to their prepubescent voice? Now think about this: Roblox's target audience is preteens (but obviously there's a LOT of older players and even adults who like it for its customizability and creative potential). If they added voice chat, would you be able to handle that? And younger kids, would you be able to handle the older ones yelling at you because your voice just sounds weird over a mic?
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. If Roblox added voice chat, I can guarantee that within a few weeks of the update, someone will have made a "virtual microphone" system for it, a la Half-Life DJ. HLDJers on TF2 are more bearable because they know when to stop, and if they don't, a votekick is trivial. Younger kids with that kind of thing wouldn't know when to stop, because they can't hear anyone over their max-volume Caramelldansen, their parents may not have authorized type chatting on their account so they can't see your typed complaints, and there is no way to get them out of the server, unless you're on a game with a votekick script.
Also, like EvilMonkeyDie and partydiva said, it's near-impossible to moderate audio communication. There's no real-time voice censor, and if someone reports the badmouther, the admins will likely only have the type chat log available, since as far as I know, not even Valve keeps voice logs in case of a VAC request. |

Would take a lot of bandwidth, which potentially could create lag, and honestly, how much harder is it to type what you want to say? This isn't a hyper-intense game where you have to be constantly at the controls, or else you'll die. |

Dude, if this happens, we will have a mod in every game, watching our every move, and watching what we say. Kinda weird if you'd ask me. But still, we have enough mods as is. |
