One time I entered a server of "Build an Island colony" by Swift48. It was late at night so there was only one other person in the server. I enter, and immediatly says "Hello" to him. I don't remember his name, but I remember it sounding like a username a small child would pick. I go over the island named Mainland, where I usually go to build.
I look around and see that the whole island is build like a church. It wasn't a good looking building, but hey, who was I to judge. I walk inside and the something that looked like a memorial. It had two figures set up with the word 'Mom' over one figure and 'Dad' over the other. On the walls were "I miss you mommy and daddy, I love you."
The writing bewildered me. I didn't know if this were real, or if someone was trying to be funny. I see the other player walk in. I asked what had happened. He told me that his mother and father recently got in a car accident and didn't survive. He started to go on about how he misses them and how roblox makes him feel better and helps him get past what has happened. It looked as if he had spent hours building it. On all the walls something else was writtin with the letters that copy and make into words.
I wanted to cry for some reason. Usually I don't show emotions like that. But that night, it got the best of me. He says making that gives him just a little more confidence for life and teaches him how to move on in life. After that, he says thank you for giving him company, and leaves. The next night, I come back and sure enough, he is there making the same thing.
Every night for the past month, he was there building it all over again. One night, I just stop looking to see if he's there. I still look back on this memory and to this day it makes me sad. |
