Although I'm sure most of you will be like 'lololo wut ish linucs' and the rest of you will say Linux is too unpopular or that it isn't a gaming OS, I decided to make this thread.
Here are the reasons.
1. Roblox already ported the app to Macs, so they obviously removed all the .NET dependencies and probably made it more cross-platform.
2. Roblox uses Ogre, as well as other open source libraries, which are cross platfrom.
3. That's all for now.
So what do you think? Support? If not, please give a logical argument for why you didn't support. |

Their working on it, or WILL. Just wait. |

I don't think it's on their agenda for the near future. |

I got Ubuntu on Linux and I couldn't play games, which is one of the many reasons why I changed my OS back to Vista. |
|
myrkosJoin Date: 2010-09-06 Post Count: 8072 |
Is that a support or not? :3 |
|
YOchickJoin Date: 2009-06-24 Post Count: 4673 |

They only need to make a few other things available for Linux... But this is definitly something they should work on. |

Ptting roblox on linux wouldnt help them at all. Pretty much all people who use linux are too cheap to buy BC. |

"Pretty much all people who use linux are too cheap to buy BC."
Stereotyping much? And most of the people who use Linux previously had Windows, so your point is completely invalid. |

And thanks for the supports. |

Maybe I should have used thrifty instead of cheap. But, the ammount of effort put into this isnt really worth it due the small ammount of people who use linux and then narrowed downed to the non-thrifty. |

"and the rest of you will say Linux is too unpopular"
My predictions are correct. xD |

'My predictions are correct. xD'

And do your predictions change how many people use Linux?
|
|
myrkosJoin Date: 2010-09-06 Post Count: 8072 |
They change nothing, except for the fact that I was expecting some of you guys to say that. |
|
|
I was implying that you didnt provide a explaination to why they should put the effort into making this if it wont help much due to the small population of linux users. |
|

Considering the fact that it would be relatively easy to port the app to Linux, this will bring many users who are very good at scripting (many programmers use Linux) and will generally help the community. |
