The old thread had too many trolls on it.
First things first: yes, i do realize that there is a lot of money involved in making a game.
Here's the idea of the game:
It would be formed sort of like a Drawn to Life game, except with ROBLOX bricks. You can find power-ups in levels that let you make certain objects do stuff (behind-the-scenes scripting). For example, you find a 'script' power-up. a menu will pop up that gives you a choice of what to be able to od. lets say you pick 'make objects fly'. you can select certain objects (pre-designated, of course) and make them hover or fly.
Enemies could be customisable in appearance, but would have the same effects per type of enemy. You would be able to change the design for each world, and it would stay consistant only in that world.
There could be a level editor mode (similar to construction mode in Mario VS Donkey Kong: Miniland Mayhem) where you can upload your own levels to the ROBLOX site. You can then, on the site, manage your game account that you gain by registering the game. you can then pick levels on the site to download onto your game.
Enemies in the edit mode would be fully customizable, with a drop-down menu of different types and features. Things such as move speed and damage would be in a window that you would input values for.
Possible Systems:
Xbox 360 (Kinect)
Wii
DS/DSi/3DS
PS3
With the Kinect version, it would be set up as a First-person mode, where you could choose your weapon and use it as if you were really using it. This would also apply to the Wii version as well.
Ideas on how to pay:
1. ROBLOX can offer a commisioning program. They give people exclusive items for donating a certain amount of money. for example, you can get the money-licious top hat by donating 100 dollars. or, you can get the gag dollar gear by donating 1 dollar.
2. raise BC prices a little. I do realize that this may deterr many from buying, but it is just an idea. it would only raise in each catagory by $2, so those $2 can be used to help pay for development.
And please, if you have any negative comments, please say what is wrong with the idea and how it could be fixed. |

Also forgot to put this: This is version 1.0.1 of the idea. I added a few things from the original idea. by the time it hits 2.0.0, I hope for it to be a complete comprehensive break-down of the game. |

I posted the same thing like this couple of months of go. O_o |

Do you mind sending me the link to the original? If so, I will give oyu some credit to the idea, though I never saw it. I posted my original in late January. |

The link was banned. Doesn't exist. Stupid flamers, trollers, and noobs started to curse on it, and got it banned. So. I wish I could. Also, no credit needed. Its alright. I don't really care, actually. |

No support, you will need a keyboard to play/build on ROBLOX video games. I posted a thread like this in 2010 of ROBLOX being for Wii I'm telling you it will not happen. Not even on the Nintendo DS or 3DS.

Okay, so long as you're fine with it. I always keep the latest version saved in my files in case the thread gets deleted from others swearing and such. |

@Zehoan: You didn't read it, you only skimmed it.
This idea is absuolutey nothing like the game we play now. We would use motion controls/drop down menus to select, move, and use things. For example, in the Kinect version, you would run in place to move forward. And with the Wii version, you would either use the Nunchuck/Control Pad or the Wii Balance Board.
The controls would be few, as this game is mostly an adventure, which doesn't require much in-depth controlling. |

It's impossible and besides ROBLOX will not make a video game version. There have been many threads like this.

Explain how it's impossible. If 5th Cell could make a game somewhat similar to this for the DS, which has a very small operating capacity compared to the consoles, then it is very much possible to make this game for a console. |

Also, most of the threads either had very vauge ideas, or it suggested an exact replica of ROBLOX on a console/handheld. This idea is in-depth and steps away from the main concept of ROBLOX, which is free-building an entire world. |

Ikr. And you think that Roblox will waste their time and money on a video game when their acutal computer game sucks? |

This would be a long term project, and they would collaborate with a full-blown console game developing company to create it. They would not be doing most of the programming, as they should work on the online game as well. They would, however, help with designing, and could get more interns to help with the game. |

@jorge: So many people are on the go these days, a portable game would be perfect. Also, people generally spend more time on a gaming console than they do on the ocmputer. |

Computers are way more portable than gaming consoles. |

The majority of people don't necessarily buy games based upon reviews, but I do see where your point is coming from. But, you must realize with the computer gaming market, that survival is equally hard as with console gaming. With more of a chance of competitors that won't get ripped as a spin-off, people will try to make better versions of it, and there are reviews written for online games as well. |
