But my mom and dad have been at home all the time, and I don't want them to hear me sing until the talent show in June. I've been planning to show them at a talent show since mid 2009.

See, I couldn't not sing in front of my family because I sing like all the time.
I sing in the shower, I sing along to the theme songs on television shows, I go down to my basement and blare the iPod speakers and sing/dance to it, heck, I even sing when I'm getting yelled at, or going to bed. |

I don't like pop music much anymore lol. I just practiced most of those songs in singing when I was into pop. |

That's a start of good metal. If you want Folk metal then go to Equilibrium.
If you want thrash metal go to Megadeth.
If you want Old School Metal, stay with Iron Maiden, and don't forget Black Sabbath. |

Lol yeah. I used to have problems with it, but I expanded my range by singing Katy Perry.
I'll be doing more songs. It just depends how often my parents are gone.

Don't do all of the sucky pop stuff.
Do something like Rise Against.
Or, since you were planning something by Katy Perry, if you have a high pitched girlish voice (assuming that you're not a girl) then atleast try something by Evanescence? |

I'm a girl with a deep voice. I can sing Katy Perry, which is generally _not_ sucky. I have a large voice range.
Anyway, I'll sing some of that stuff once I get a few videos of the songs I have practiced before up. |
