There is no need for so many alts. It provides a counter for legitimate suggestions, "alt abuse" is a very common phrase I see on S&I. Lots of alts are made just for cool names. Others are made to slip out of bans and continue spamming and exploiting. Almost all provide a way to cheat cash. It also increase the user limit and inches us closer to running out of names to use. Currently we have 10,000,000+ users. I bet a VERY small fraction of that are actually users. The rest are inactive or alts. People make alts for what? For cool names? For roleplay? For a ban resort? None of that is important or beneficial to ROBLOX. I severely regret making several alts. There should be a limit to how many alts you can have, it would track your IP to prevent you from making any more. My limit suggestion is 5. Any other suggestions are appreciated. I know a lot of you have alts, but please, think about if you REALLY use them. I mean, maybe you use them SOME, like, one of my alts has 400 Forum posts, but it will never be as much as your main and eventually you'll forget about them, stop using them, or forget their pass. Comments or criticism is appreciated. ~["We should provide in peace what we need in war" -Publilius Syrus]~

IP address is a code every computer has, it allows services too classify them in a certain area. @Idea, I made one like this, but some people like dawgra came in and tried too flame me. But support. ~ My name suggests I love Sci-Fi, But I love medieval also. As I come back to S&I Everyday too fight off trolls. ~

Agree, but not 3/2 please. I haven't been very bothered to read the whole thing, so if it's anything less than 7 I disagree. And I think that this could be a bit of trouble with people having more than one computer. I kind of agree, but kind of don't. This is a way to end major hacking, until the hacker buys another computer. You should be able to ban accounts using the same computer via this update. Again, I am not sure if you have already said any of the information above because I haven't read the whole thing. Dssdundonald

In my opinion multiple accounts on same IP should be all deleted if most of them get banned, as that is a pretty clear way of knowing trolling alts.

... causing siblings to not be able to play, because their network IP is the same, no matter on what computer at their house they play with. No.

Then the family has to work out the deal. Siblings could share accounts. I highly doubt a large family would have all of it's sons and daughters playing ROBLOX on the same computer, especially considering that not all the siblings would enjoy ROBLOX. These countless alts cause more problems than they solve. Or, PERHAPS the family could have a parent account and negotiate with ROBLOX about the alt limit if their siblings want to play but want separate accounts. ~["We should provide in peace what we need in war" -Publilius Syrus]~

I agree with the "Big Family" thing. Lets say I have 27 brothers(Yikes) and we all want to play ROBLOX.. We only have one computer and mommy wont buy us another(Because we don't have money for 27 computers).. If we hit that limit then we have 20 other kids who cant play ROBLOX.. Another thing is if you have friends that you want to introduce to ROBLOX and they create an account off your IP address, this would make it so that you have room for one less alt, even though its not YOURS. I don't know, I'm sure this is an idea admins have thought about, but it would take a very complex system to implement it without upsetting people in some way.

@Dado That would almost eradicate the purpose of my suggestion. Alts outnumber actual users by about 8 to 1. With a limit of 8, there really isn't much change. As I said, a parental account could be created and could negotiate an alt limit with more length than the regular one with ROBLOX. Sharing accounts isn't allowed, and same with a lot of other stuff. But do people listen? No. I would actually not support my own thread if people wanted a limit of 8. ~["We should provide in peace what we need in war" -Publilius Syrus]~

Um we have CAPTCHAS. They stop you from making like 100 alts. Do you read the news? Yup I was an '09er

@cody There will always be something upsetting someone. There is no way to avoid this. I'm taking the easy route and going with what the majority want. ~["We should provide in peace what we need in war" -Publilius Syrus]~

I emphasise the word "LIKE". It also stops you from spamming LIKE 300 times. (Sometimes the system confuses bumps for spam) It can do a multiple of things. This goes w/ the topic alt abuse.

The only way this would be possible is to track all the IP adresses each account logs in on. If more than the limit of people log into one IP adress, it will no longer accept new members from there. This could cause a lot of problems if your friend(s) come over your house to show you stuff on ROBLOX, and then a younger sibling who wants to play can't make an account because the limit has been reached. This idea would overall cause problems on both ends, as it will take the mods some time to code this into the whole site.
