Hundreds of years ago, a giant meteor crashed into the planet Earth. The planet was ravaged, and dust blocked out the Sun. Everywhere plants started dying, water became polluted, and the world became virtually uninhabitable. Everywhere water purifiers were flying off the shelves. Food rations were worshipped as they became smaller and smaller. Amidst all this chaos, a group of Russian scientists were completing their project of creating their greatest invention – a fully functional space colony. Once they had the designs finished and they had tested out all the bugs, they launched their first successful colony, housing a total of 200,000 people in it. They presented their design to the UN, and they ruled that in order to save the human race, multitudes of these colonies would be built and launched. At the time, 10 billion people were living world-wide. The UN only got enough forces together to mass produce enough colonies to save 500 million. By the time they had the 2,500th colony built, the Earth had run out of supplies that weren’t already packed. They had no choice but to launch the crafts, and leave the rest of the humans to die. Now the year is 2637, and all the colonies have been thriving. We’ve been living under a strict code, where each couple is only allowed one child. After that one child, one or both of the partners are sterilized, to prevent any “accidental” children. They were forced to enforce this code once the colonies got over-crowded in its earlier years. As of recently, my home colony of Ragabah is in much need of repair. Over the years, each colony developed its own economy, as each one was designed with a different resource. Ours happened to be coal, which was of no use to the solar-powered colonies. None of the more prosperous colonies have bothered to lift a finger to help our dying colony, and now we’re in dire need of repairs. My name is Zinth, and I’m one of 50 people selected to travel back to the ravaged Earth to gather supplies. My friend Enix and I are part of the elite crew. We’re tasked with travelling to the most dangerous and life-threatening locales to gather the crucial tools and supplies. No one knows what Earth is like now, as volcanic activity quickly rose and filled the atmosphere with noxious gases. Our colony has built a mini-colony that is self-sustaining that will be sent down with us for us to live in. Our quest will begin in just a few hours, and the journey is expected to take well over a year to complete. We don’t know if our colony will be alive when we return, but we can only hope to return with the right supplies quick enough to save our colony. So, any feedback?

I can already tell this will be an epic story. Make sure you add lots of details to your story. So are you going to have the left on earth humans' help them or did the humans become mutates?

You'll find out when I post the next chapter update. :P I'm planning on posting random chapters to leave people wondering what happened in between. I've finished Chapter 1, and I'm working on chapter 2. I just got back from a 23.5 mile backpacking trip with my scout troop, so I'll get plenty of time to work with it since I'll have plenty of rest time.

I'll probably post chapter 2 next, then chapter 5. I'm kepping large gaps so if I get a chance to publish it, people who read bits of it will want to read it.

Exceptional! Exceptional indeed! I find separated paragraphs to be easier on the eyes. Though it is still readable.

I try to save space by keeping them closer.
