There comes a time when someone in a community turns to the community and asks them what they think about him or her. His or her curiosity about others' opinions of he or she often leads the community to believe that said individual is self-centred, narcissistic, and snide. However, it's equally likely that the person just wants to know what others think, so that he or she may be able to improve his or herself accordingly. This is basically what the thread's about.
