Say you own a very exclusive group and you want your friend to join. It's going to be pretty hard to get them in when you get 2 join requests per second. It would also allow for a way to keep noob clans from asking you to join their group.
Here's how it would work (concept images in the tl;dr at the bottom):
You can go to My ROBLOX > Account to set your group invite settings. It has the same options as the follow settings.
1) You go to your group's admin page, scroll down just under where join requests should be and you see a section named "Invitation". It contains a text box and a "Compose Invite" button. When you type a user's name in the box and click "Compose Invite", it will either take you to the invite composer or give you a javascript notification that the user can't receive group invites from you.
2) The invite composer is like an FR, except the sender is the group rather than you. Click "Send" after setting your subject ("Group Invite" by default) and message (nothing by default).
3) Group invites go to their inbox. Group invites have a #0000FF background and #FFFFFF text color. When you click on one, it opens like a PM.
4) The Group Invite Message page is almost identical to the PM page except it has the group's logo rather than a user's avatar and "Accept" is replaced with "Accept and join XYZ".
5) When they click "Accept and join XYZ" or "Decline", the sender will receive a system message similar to the one you get when an FR is accepted/declined except group invite system messages' have the #0000FF text color on the sender name, subject, AND date.
TL;DR VERSION:
First you set this: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329185
Then you send an invite like this: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329193
Then you write one of these: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329176
Then they get one of these: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329180
And they read what you wrote and make a life-changing decision here: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329187
And then you get the results: http://www.roblox.com/--item?id=54329190
Sorry about the low quality of the images, but I didn't want to upload them to the wiki and risk getting yelled at again.
Post your thoughts. |

i say the group invite things that you send should be in a place like the FRs that you send people. or maybe in the same place as the FRs. but not in the inbox, cuz this is just like FRs, so it would be dum if they were treated different. |

I made a popular thread nearly identical to this, I think roblox should really do something like this. But I guess making things easier and more efficient is not something they like to do. They'd be all over it if each group invite request cost robux. |
