I think it is possible that Roblox can have Ambiant Fog. Unlike using bricks, this would only be a Color3 property in Lighting, which can be easily edited; it will work by simply changing pixel colors, depending on distance.
Ambiant fog has been used in a lot of video games in order to create a sense of distance. This effect is also used to hide parts of the game that are "hiden" when rendering.
Here is an example: http://www.roblox.com/Foggy-Hills-item?id=55255131
This effect has been used for a long time; old computers like Windows 98 have rendered this effect in games for as long as I could remember. That means that the likeliness of your computer crashing and freezing is very slim (Unless if you have bogged down your computer with 5 things at once).
Ambiant Fog: Good addition, no need for bricks, easy to render, very possible for Roblox.
Anyone support? |

So its not like smoke? |
|
|
Not at all like smoke. It won't be a particle effect. |
|
|
That will just be a pointless waste of time? Roblox lags enough as it is.. If they made this i'd quit.. no support.. |
|
|
It won't be a waste of time if another building update is added on to it. We already (finally) have cornerwedgeparts, now it would be nice to have more materials and particle effects for people to use maybe even a new building part to use. But that's Roblox's choice if they want to publish ambiant fog with a building update. |

Ah yes... people are seeing the reasoning behind it now. :D |

@TheNoob2899
See, people always think Money/Lag before Creativity/Awesomeness. >.<

I honestly cannot think of a more needed update!!!For you ignoramuses who claim it would cause lag, its main function in games is to realisticly PREVENT lag. |

@Vallindell
Dynamic Lighting/Dynamic Water?
-Virtualdarks |
|

If you mean do I think DL is more of a priority than DW, then hell yes I do.Water would be fantastic, but lighting is what we need.I think it is outrageous that they make Ambient Occlusion (while it is the most wonderful update yet, in my opinion), without dynamic lighting!!! |
|
|
@Vallindell
Both in priority over DW and AF. XD Oh well. :3
I wanted to make a great city of glass with fantastic lights, but I can't without DL. I use MC for that. :D
The new pistons in MC are awesome. :D

Same here.I don't play MC much anymore, but I assume there are at least one thousand more building options with pistons.I made a big Classical Architecture tomb in that game. :D |

@Vallindell
I made a complex controllable dam. It was awesome controlling water. :D
I'm gonna try to control lava next. I can't get Single Player Commands anymore, so this is going to be dangerous. :o

Sounds awesome, please make a youtube video...and send me the l 1 n k...somehow.... XD |

@Vallindell
If I actually YouTube it. :3
I only have CamStudio. And my Windows Movie Maker doesn't work. My friend suggested finding some program called Video Pad. ._.

Fraps?I don't know much about this stuff, I just hold my camera to my screen lmao. |

@Vallindell
I use to do that. Until I realize it was SUPER low res. :3
-Virtualdarks
Lava is SLOW! Just saying. :3 |

@Vallindell
Personally, I use a inventory editor. Much easier for a bucket of lava. XD
