OK, everyone has seen the new title screen of roblox when you want to log in right? Y'now, the one where it's basically a slide show that shows all the games the roblox administrators like? yeah that, now i don't know if i'm the only one that noticed this but all the pictures roblox took of those games (The ones in the slideshow) shows what the games look like in SEVERAL future updates. So basically, when a new person goes on roblox to check it out, he/she is EXPECTING to find a flawless, graphically enhanced game with great shadow and lighting effects because that's what the slidshow portrayed the game as. I think this is a very selfish move by the moderators and administrators of roblox. Why would they need to falsly advertise roblox. I mean, if i were new and i saw that, i would get Builders club for gods sake! Imagine the faces of the children when they realize roblox isn't what they expected. Its a evil game roblox is playing by doing this to kids who visit their site and it's not fair at all! This is the THIRD time roblox has been accused for false advertising over the past couple of years and roblox has always somehow blinded the community to be on their side. Don't let roblox win! WE NEED SOME JUSTICE!
Surely roblox can advertise the game without false advertising can't they? |

tbh m8 roblox is like many game adverts,they only show you the best parts,if they showed it wasn't good,no-one would play,besides if you look hard enough you'll find thoose games you saw in the adverts.Besides there's nothing wrong with making a great place,talk to mods/admins etc, to have your place printscreened and showed in future roblox adverts,though the game would have to greater than most games most robloxians have ever made.With that said if u are going to undertake this then i bid u good luck |

I agree with the misleading advertising, but I don't mind the GFX, as I only care about how fun it is, so in this case, it doesn't affect me.

Did I even say I wanted to lock this thread? No, only mods and admins may close threads. Users may close their threads before posting one as well.

@skyarex it is true that the slideshow pictures what looks of a better game than it really is, and I agree with you on your point that it would be better to show the real thing. Here two points I wish to point out:
1. It's not just roblox that does it. Almost every single company does it. It's, cheap, its lying, it's scandalous, but it's capitalism. A recent advertysment for a bank has an intreresting way of saying this. It shows some guy in a stiff shirt who give a little kid a trycicle. Just as the kid rides away, the man grabs the trycicle, and says "You can't go out of the circle." This circle can fit the trycicle, but only with two inches to spare. Then the set fades out and a narrator says in the background "Even kids know it's not fair," and then goies on to advertise that bank, saying it treats you fairly. I have seen atleast 8 variationsof that ad, each saying the same message "Even kids know it's not fair," but frankly, other than that bank, no company really cares about kids, kids are just a consumer to them, and a rather gullib;le one, at that. Don't expect Roblox to change that, or at least un a humble manner.
2. In your writing, you use some words which don't fit in, and lessen the strength of your argument. I know you feel strongly, but to another person reading it, it doesn't sound great. Your use of "Evil" is an example. You have a very strong point, and a very convincing writing style, just refrain from using overly strong words. |
