I shouldn't have to explain what rating is. Simply it's rating a game from 0-5 stars on how good it is.
Most of us don't like it, becuase it is alt-abusable by putting a lot of 5 stars or 0 stars to mess up the rating.
Rating Power.
This is what I have come up with to solve this problem. I have thought up of a rating system that gives everyone rating power. Rating power is what decides how important your "rating" is. How much rating power you have is determined by two things (and optionally a third). These two things are activness of the player, and how long the player has been on Roblox. You must have BOTH of these to get a lot of rating power. You won't get too much rating power if you do one of these things alone. Alts won't get much rating power, because they usually aren't active. Newer players won't get much rating power, because they are new to Roblox. You must have both!
How "rating power" determines your rating.
Lets say 0 stars is -3, 1 star is -2, 2 stars is -1, 3 stars is 1, 4 stars is 2, and 5 stars is 3. Now if I had a very low rating power of 0.001 and I was to rate a place 0 stars. This is how the rate works, I take -3 and multiply it by my power rating of 0.001. 0.001 x (-3) = -0.003. The game would only lose 0.03 points. Now lets say I had a large rating power of 5! If I rated 5 stars on the game, this is what would happen; 5 x 3 = 15. The game would gain 15 points!
How do I increase my rating power?
As I said before rating power is based on activness and how long you have been on Roblox. You must have both to increase your power. I also want to get in detail about activiness, because it is more important. Just logging in is minimum activity. Playing and building games is what gives you more activity for the day. So only people who play Roblox a lot will have more of an advantage over alts that rarely play Roblox.
Increasing your power is a very slow process especially for newer players (This makes it harder for new alts who got their previous alts banned). You can make it increase faster the more activity you have done. It's almost like a bonus. The bonus increases the longer you keep this combo. You will lose the bonus if activity drops to small/no activity for a certain amount of time.
The third optional thing I suggested is BC. It is very unlikely for an alt to have BC. If you have BC your rating power will increase faster than a NonBC player. If you lose BC, your increase will return to being the same as the NonBC player.
Is rating power infinite? Can I lose it?
Rating Power is not infinite. There is a maximum amount of power you can have. BCer's maximum will be a lot higher than the NBC. (Their maximum will drop to normal if they lose BC.) ( It would probably take more than a year for someone to reach their maximum rating power, because increasing your rating power is a very slow process.) You can lose power, but only if you get banned. If you break the rules your power will be reduced by half. You will NOT lose power by not being active. If you aren't active your power will just remain the same. It won't go up or down.
Extra rating rules!
Roblox will have a "Highest rated games." A game will only show up on this list if enough people have rated it, AND if the rating power of these people adds up past a certain number. Another rule to add is that your rate will only last a month. Games can be changed or updated which can make the game more or less fun. If a month has gone by your rate on that place will be erased, but you can still rerate it. You can not rate a game more than once unless a month has gone by since you have rated that place. Since rates can be erased this leads to the possiblity for new games to show up on the list instead of the same game being stuck there for monthes.

@hintboyright That sounds fair, but it has to be a very minimal bonus. Otherwise the troll alts will put 0 stars on everything they see. |

no support. People will get upset that no one plays their game just because of a rating system.
Also this could happen, Random person: "I'm going to rate down every place so less people want to go to it." And many people would do that... Like trolls in items or in forums they will just rate down everything for the fun of it...
Imagine you making a place and no one playing it for a rate down. Even if you remake it, it still has a low rate. |

support but one thing... i have alts made in 2009... which will have a lot of rating power...
so if i have old alts that means others could have old alts which they can spam with....

@ theblock24 Remember the alts also need to have a lot of activity to even have enough also theres a problem..... mains an troll. so lets make it so that they have to play the game for at least 30 minutes before rating. that slows them down |

@grantox 30 minutes might be a long time depending on the game. At least 5-10 minutes to prove you actually played. Still even that part might not be needed. Activity is very big. You would have to treat all your alts like they were your main. Also the bonus is very important too. Those players would have to play constantly. I think after all that the person would give up, because I also said with everything done properly it would take more than a full year. I don't think it's that much needed considering how much work you have to do to get to maximum. Also getting one small ban hurts a lot. |
