My explanation on how My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is for all ages and genders. (tl;dr at end)

~~Introduction~~ The show MAY have been first made for girlds between the ages of 7-10, yes, we know that, but that does not confine it to that demographic. Just like CoD and Halo were made for the male age group of 18-25, that doesn't stop millions of 12 year olds from playing it. The main character's gender has nothing to do with the show, just the demographic. ~~History of My Little Pony~~ My Little Pony first started in the 80's. I remember watching clips of it in a daycare. Back then, I was just a child, I had no idea what the show was about, only that it had girly ponies. G2 was, I have no idea at all really. G3 was HORRIBLE, they were all girly girls going to tea parties and eating 50 pounds of sweets a day. They all probably ended the show because the ponies got diabetes and died. G4, otherwise known as Friendship is Magic, is so far one of the best ones. It is not girly girly, although it has elements such as one character being obsessed with fashion, but not all the characters going to tea parties and looking for Stallions. ~~References in MLP~~ My Little Pony makes plenty of references to things that adults or teens will know, but not little children, but still make it funny. A 7 year old boy will not understand what it meant when Pinkie Pie states the punch was "spiked". They won't know what song is playing when Twilight is being chased around Ponyville (acoustic Benny Hill theme). They won't get what Fluttershy means when she calls Spike "Huffy the Magic Dragon" They won't understand most references in the show at all, especially the title names, which are all witty parodies of things. Only people that would get it are the older audiences. ~~Conclusion~~ I am not trying to force an opinion down anyone's throat, but if you at least watch the show, instead of being a hardheaded "manly man" then you will either learn something or like it. The show has good morals in each and every episode, unlike other shows where all they do is fart and poop and think it's funny. This show actually has a moral standard above most other shows. Also, unlike most other "girl" shows, there is not an overabundance of pink, in fact, pink is mostly used as a decorating colour or secondary, mostly used are yellow and tan colours. ~~tl;dr~~ The show is good. Good morals, adult/teen references. Made for female demographic, but anyone can enjoy it. Just try it before you have an opinion. ~~PS~~ I suggest watching either episode 26, or 23, they are my favorites.
