Admins, devs, moderators, bear with me. Read this entire thing if you want to know how to kick off a great start fixing up the wasteland Roblox has become. Even you normal members can help. Spread the word to everyone. Link here. Do something to open the eyes of the people you want to show this to.
There are 4 bad things in Roblox that is going to cause its downfall, guys. Let's list 'em off:
--BC only places.
--BC tags.
--BC symbols in game.
--Corruption and ignorance.
I'm going to go over each, in detail, and why it's a bad idea.
BC only places. The beginning of the devs' little money craze. We all know this is segregating players. It used to be like this:
Player1 (BC, but nobody knows unless they look at his Roblox badges, or even cares): Want to play with me over in this awesome place?
Player2 (NBC, nobody knows or cares, much like Player1): Yes, I would like to play with you!
Now, it's like this when people invite each other to places:
Player1 (BC, now people care): Do you want to come play with me in this awesome place? Wait, you're one of those NBC noobs who can't come there.
Player2 (NBC): -.-
Player3 (BC): I'll come with you, Player1.
*Player1 and Player3 leave to the BC only place.*
Player2: Well, now I'm by myself. People are mean here. I'm out.
*Player2, a former potential BCer, leaves Roblox.*
BCers and NBCers play different games, near all the time. NBCers and BCers barely interact in game. Why? BC places are where most BCers go. Normal places are where ALL NBCers go. Plus, it harms NBC features. They don't get to go to as many places as before, do they? No. Also, one more thing. BCers had ENOUGH before this fail update. They paid for what they had. They should have paid more to get more instead of harming the lower BCs' features for more. Big issue, my friends. Segregation isn't anything that makes Roblox more safe or fun.
Now, on to BC tags. They exist on avatars anywhere you can find them. They're one of the most useless updates ever. Look at the Roblox badges, people! Open your eyes to the "Builders Club" badge! The tags mess up some BCers' avatars too. They're just an eyesore to plenty. When these terrible things were added, what begun was BCers acting all superior and stuff to NBCers. They treated their tag as a little golden crown. Guess what, guys? IT'S NOT. BC tags don't make sense. This was an update that was useless towards improving Roblox's fun or safety. The only "use" it had was giving very selfish BCers the idea of being superior to NBCers.
Issue 3: BC symbols. They're basically BC tags, but now with more in-game. BCers' false sense of superiority over NBCers has extended into the games. BCers are bossing NBCers around in-game and making their Roblox time miserable... IN-GAME. Roblox, my amazingly greedy friends, you've crossed the line. You should know that to get even more money, you have to make EVERYONE happy. You're not supposed to put two closing-in walls on the non-premium users, and give them the path of getting premium membership, leaving Roblox, or standing there and being crushed by the BCers' false sense of superiority. By the heck you unleash on the game to anyone without premium membership.
Now, the last issue I'll talk about: Corruption and ignorance. The moderators and devs never listen to the players. The players make suggestions for you. The players tell you what's good and what's bad that needs to be removed. I'm telling you what's bad and needs to be removed: ignorance. You need to start listening to us with a clear mind, open eyes and ears, and putting the ban hammer to the side, only to use it when they're ACTUALLY doing something bad. Just sit and listen. Don't use favoritism when moderating--don't ban people just because you don't like them. Don't ban just one person when two break rules towards each other, just because you're friends with the other. Don't abuse deleting to remove places and threads just because you don't like them, even if they're legit threads that break no rules.
THE MAIN SUGGESTIONS OF THIS THREAD ARE BELOW.
To summarize, here are the base ideas.
--Get rid of BC games.
--Get rid of BC tags.
--Get rid of BC symbols.
--Get rid of corruption and ignorance in moderators.
--C-c-c-c-combo breaker! (/joke)

A: You had enough before BC places. Plus, you can make your own systems to stop guest-abusing trolls, just like we do. It's only fair and legit.
Q: Are you crazy? These are epic updates!
A: I may be a little crazy, but I'm serious about what I'm conveying to Roblox's devs: That these do more harm than good, and are causing the downfall of this once great game.
Q: Won't they... NOT listen to us?
A: Relax, buddy. It's always worth a shot.
Q: What if the FAQ doesn't answer my question?
A: Look at thread posts to see if you can find your question, then go straight ahead to posting a question yourself in the thread replies. I'll answer there.
And to conclude, the admins are the ones to choose. The ones to choose between listening to this thread and relevant threads to save Roblox, or ignore the players who pay them and allow the great downfall of Roblox.

Issue 1: Encourages people to buy BC, meaning more money for ROBLOX.

Issue 4: Things get removed for a reason. If you did not get a message from ROBLOX telling you why your item was removed, then ask them.
The reason the mods don't listen to us is because they're fed up with us. There is so much spam that they can't find anything worth listening to. Instead of using the Forums, send the devs a message or post your idea on roblox.uservoice.com.

It is not all community-...faulted, seth. It's Roblox's. They got this freaking insane money craze that they refuse to break out of. They do anything for money on Roblox, even if it might make EVERYONE'S Roblox time miserable... so long as they get more money. But it is true that it is part community, for actually supporting this terrible idea of BC games. |

You know what encourages people to buy a game? Making it worth buying. ROBLOX is pushing out mindless BC updates to force people into paying or leave, where as if they had created a good game, they wouldn't have to create so many BC features. They would have only had to keep the basics, and people would have gladly paid for the game and the premium features that were there, because it was worth the money. Clearly, if ROBLOX needs THAT many features to bring customers in, they are doing something horrible wrong. |

1. Because I think things through before I post on an idea. I think about the consequences and the implications and what would happen if the idea was actually put into effect, unlike some people who can't get past the face brilliance of the idea when in reality, there are so many staggering issues underneath that the idea is shockingly bad and should not be supported by anybody in this universe or any other who has a brain.
2. I may come off as a minimod, but at least I don't come off as a complete moron who has no idea what a true S&Ier is.

The worst part of this thread is saying that the tags will bring the downfall of roblox. Without the tags, nobody would know who was BC! And that means less people buying it. ROBLOX needs BC. Get over it. |

Did you account for so many of them being spam alts that use no bandwidth, since they are never logged in? Instead they use an idle megabyte or so to store the username with no hats or property. Drastically lowering the amount of data you say they use up.
And I never said ROBLOX didn't need the money. I'm well aware of how much data they take up, and how much money it takes to pus that data out. But if they created a respectable game to start with, then they wouldn't need to create so many premium features to start with, just to get enough overhead!
Sure, ROBLOX may be a 'sandbox' game. But guess what? Whoop-de-friggin-do. It's got nothing past that point. You spawn a brick. You spawn a script. You spawn a crude GUI. That's all it has. It's physics are beyond sub-standard. And the power behind the platform makes me puke. You want a role-model of a sandbox? Take CryEngine3, for example. That allows the import and export of custom meshes and sounds, COMPLETE control of the GUIs, COMPLETE control over partial effects, graphics, physics, EVERYTHING. They even have their own flow chat and scripts. Look at what that sandbox has. And compare it to this one. If ROBLOX had even 1/10th the power behind that platform, maybe I wouldn't have quit my BC. But they don't. ROBLOX offers nothing
Now I well understand that some things can't be put be taken from that engine and put into ours. We can't have user meshes and sounds because of the immaturity of the community. I under stand that. But what about flowcharts? Or CoreGUI can't be edited. And creating animated, bump-mapped textures would destroy this engine. It doesn't even support advanced lighting for God's sake! Maybe if ROBLOX was more like that, we wouldn't have people complaining about BC as much!
So I'm going to wrap this up with the three most common accusations against this argument:
"CryEngine3 is only for Crysis 2 noob!!"
For one, CryEngine 3 has been used in the making of many games. Not just Crysis 2. And I never said use CryEngine 3. I said get some of the features it offers
"CryEngine3 would melt the average ROBLOX PC noob!!"
Once again, I never said anything about using CryEngine 3. I said to get some of the features it offers. We don't need to have life-in-1080p graphics nor ungodly huge texture resolutions to get some of those features. And before you say anything, advanced lighting won't lag if it's made properly. For the record, the original Halo had advanced lighting. And it runs on the same system spaces as ROBLOX.
"OMG COPYRIGHT NOOB!!"
First of all, you're an idiot. Second of all, creating an engine, or getting an engine legally, that provides features that another engine features isn't an infringement of copyright law. Else EVERY VIDEO GAME ON EARTH could have sued each other for including 3D drawings and basic physics.
So, anything you find wrong with what I said? I'm sure I'll discount your claim. |
