Of all the threads I had seen so far it seems that roblox has seemed unappealing to more players (mostly older players) because of these updates. It has updates like its fit for social networking.
First of all social networking is not suppose to be for children whether you like it or not especially when all these unknown people and strangers are online (Oh and when kids have social networking it gives the idea it is okay to share private information... Very big mistake for roblox connecting accounts to facebook >_>. It also had a big increase on ODing WOW whoope!) Social networking is suppose to be for more mature ages. Roblox used to be about building and people getting constructive and smart now its more about social networking and crappy updates mostly on the catalog >_>. Plus social is all around you it is called reality (outside) children, people and animals. If you wanted social networking leave roblox out of this and go to facebook or whatever(, now stop ruining on of the best websites I ever visited!)'
And a suggestion for the mods to see this and for this game to seem appealing to the new and older players. And thanks and goodbye roblox!

I am not saying your idea is bad because you don't use grammar. I was just pointing out flaws in your posting technique.
So, you want to get rid of all social networking on ROBLOX? Okay, let's just mindlessly build games that nobody else can visit, let's get rid of the ability to chat, and have groups, and PM each other, and be friends, and buy stuff, and search for other people, and have contests, and forum, and play games with one another, and connect to FB, and get rid of the feed, and get rid of character customization, and get rid of anything else remotely related to social networking so we can become a game where you only build.

Anyway, we already have building and there's not much we can do to improve it. We already have total control over our places with the ability to create Lua scripts, as well as the ability to build whatever we want with infinite blocks, etc etc etc. Don't say that we have limits, because we don't. You can make alts for more places. You can rotate places out. You can put more than one place in Lighting and create a script that compiles all the place's elements into a player's LocalBricks when a GUI button is clicked.
We don't have building limits. Therefore, we can't improve building that much unless we upgrade the engine, which won't happen.
Therefore, more social networking to give the admins something to do. They can't just be sitting around having chair races, they're getting paid... probably tens of thousands of dollars a year. The admins have to work on SOMEthing!

Its just more of the problems that it causes and more people to quit roblox.

Name me one person who has quit ROBLOX because of social networking features. BESIDES YOU.
So, you're telling me that the admins want to give their own website a bad name, even though that website is their livelihood, that website is what they are depending on to pay their bills, that website is what they are depending on for food.
Please thoroughly digest that crackpot logic and get back to me.
What features do you think they SHOULD be working on, if they are doing such a bad job?

There will be updates be as the admins updated the ForceField and added loop and break command but still. As you said there is nothing to update in building.
But why do have to drag this through the mud even quicker?
Depending on the money they make and salary to the employees it is a tough choice to satisfy the players or the employees
So its best to work toward the purpose of roblox and get rid of this social networking.

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant we can't make any more building features that would help us.
You still haven't told us what building features you would like implemented. If you don't have any ideas and you just want to get rid of social networking because you hate it, then GET OUT. You are part of a select group of a couple dozen people out of SEVERAL MILLION USERS. The select group hates social networking. The several million are OK with it, like it and/or love it. Therefore, it isn't going away.

The threads you posted are pointless. The first one is about in-game building, which was gotten rid of because people were hacking the feature to edit others' places.
The second one doesn't have a suggestion at all. It's another reason why we need S&I Talk (an idea originally by watevs44, I believe), but it doesn't have a suggestion.
ROBLOX is getting a lot done. We just don't think it is, because most of the people in this community don't go on roblox.uservoice.com and see what ideas the ROBLOX devteam is working on. If they did, they might know that ROBLOX is getting a lot done, but they don't, so it's the community's fault.
Long story short?
IT'S YOUR FAULT.
Seriously, go to roblox.uservoice.com, and look in Accepted. They're doing a LOT right now, you're just too stupid to realize that.

We can already build. I see no issue with having a social aspect to the game. Updates should focus more on the building aspects of the game, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't allow anything social. |
