Combining a few of my ideas i have this.
This occurs in an alternate universe, the planet is still called earth although its larger and has different landmasses and countries, its also in a steampunkish ww2 technology era known as the Era of Prosperity.
In the continent of Anea, the countries of Actia and Ebar, the 2 countries have hostilities brewing on the borders, over a mountain range that is rich in ores such as tin and iron. Both countries want this but its a disputed area as it belongs to nobody and each country claims it is theirs although there are no documents or recordings to prove this. However there is a secret that only Actia know and it lies within this mountain range and they want to harness its power. One winter night Ebar launch a stealth counter-attack into the area using their best trained special operations troops. However after 3 hours the radio goes dark and the mission is deemed a failure after 10 hours of no response...all the soldiers went MIA. They then send a whole battalion to assault the mountain range, most of the soldiers are picked off and killed by what only they can describe as flesh devouring beasts before the radio cuts to static. You being a part of the only squad left must survive against these 'Beasts' and navigate your way to safety, or find out what is going on and put a stop to it.
The setting is a alpine/snowy mountain range with high peaks and low valleys making it hard to escape without proper knowledge of the terrain, it will also take place partly underground in the dark mines. |

Additional idea: The RPers can be either Actian Or Ebarian Military troops having to put aside their differences to survive? |

Steampunk: Generally 18th century based.
WW2: around the 40's, how was WW2 prosperous.
Era os Prosperity: Please try the 'golden age' as it was called in Britain before the first WW. |

If you read the whole story, you'd know the planet isn't Earth as we know it. WW2 never happened, obviously.

Steampunk doesn't have to be in the 1800's, this is a mix of Steampunk TECHNOLOGY and a WW2 Type living era. Era of Prosperity was something i thought up on the spot and i had no idea that it was an actual Era or event. |

Also WW2 Hasn't happened yet...and it might not even start, its just a mix of the 2 to spice things up a little.
Examples of technologys.
Zepplin..rather than helium it uses steam
Steam powered tanks
Steam weaponry..perhaps artillery?
Bolt action rifles, sub machine guns similar to the real world mp-40 or tommy gun.
Harpoon rifles???

How about modified muskets who fire out missiles using large powder charges and fires a steam filled uranium-cored shell of titanium; a large chaingun propelled using chemically treated, toxic gunpowder and pressurized steam? |
