Think about this: It does say in the Constitution that you can "possess and bear firearms" Some say that means in your home Discuss

For once, I agree with LJ. Open Carry is OK.

Yes you can, but NEVER take it out.

I'd have to admit I would be freaked out if I saw someone carrying a gun on the street. So concealed carry is the way to go.

I don't see any use in only allowing concealed carry.

Most people would freak out at the sight of an openly carried firearm.

But in a public place it's almost impossible that no one carried a weapon if it is allowed.

Although you wouldn't see the weapons, it would be almost impossible that no one in the place you are had one.

But just the sight of one would scare people, because it implies they might use it. That's why concealed carry is best.

Why would not knowing who is the one who has a weapon be any different?
Warrab
#56452657Saturday, October 15, 2011 11:54 PM GMT

As I said, it being in plain sight implies an intention to use it imminently.

@Warrab Freaked out? I lol, because once or twice my dad has Open Carried in public and one time this guy was driving like a jerk so he confronted the guy but the guy sped away, and my dad saw that his gun was out of his shirt.

Which is good since you don't have much time to react when a criminal attacks you.

EWM had a good anecdote. The driver of that car thought that his dad would shoot him or at least threaten to.

You shouldn't confront someone while having a gun at plain sight, but for most of the time you should be allowed to do so.

I don't think that having guns legalized actually helps limit crime rates...

Officers should do random checks to make sure people have the weapons licensed.

I think anyone who supports open carry is over-compensating. Concealed carry.

Man A walks into bar with firearm. He gets drunk Man B annoys man A. Man A shoots man B. Man C shoots A. Man A and B die,man C goes to jail. It's gona happen if you let them carry around guns. "Ask no questions and you will hear no lies."
