I, personally, would like to see a section for stories. I find pleasure in both writing AND reading, and I'm sure several others do, as well. Although S&Iers may not appreciate this, I'm sure the majority of RPers would.
Speaking of RPing...
Stories don't necessarily... correspond with the RP forum. They are often ignored because people go to that forum for RPs, not stories. And where might these people put their stories if they are neglected by the forum? I am regularly inspired to write. However, I never really write on the forums because I can't save my progress in the midst of a story. [I DO write on the forums, but not often.]
Additionally, what if someone wanted to read a story? Where would they go to for a story? There may not be any stories on the front page of the RP forum.
==How it Would Work==
Well, in the blue bar above, a new classification would be included beside 'Forum', and it'd be titled as 'Story' or 'Stories'. Once on the page, the stories would be listed by five in a row, six in a column. If there so happened to be more than 30 stories, new pages would open, and you'd flip through pages on both the top and bottom of the screen.
If you were on the front page, each story would be stored into what looks to be the cover of a book. The books would be rather small, and above it would be the title. To the right of the books would list the amount of views, the 'Like' and 'Dislike' bars with numbers, and, perhaps, a short description of the story, as you may find on the back of a book, or on the inside of a cover. The descriptions' maximum letters would be, say, 50? 60? Somewhere around there.
If you clicked on the books, you'd come to a page with the actual story. The story would have a maximum length on one page, thus the remaining of the story would be on seperate pages. You could scroll through these pages by clicking the page numbers beneath each page. For instance:
"1, 2, 3... 7, 8"
Much like it's organized in the forums.
A blue bar would seperate the comments from the story. The comments would be beneath the blue bar, while the story would be above. The comments would, too, contain page numbers if the story receives several comments. Like in games, comments could be disabled and enabled.
To prevent spam, only one story may be posted every 24 hours. The author of the story could, however, edit his or her story, but the stories would consist of filters like the forums do. Authors may add onto their stories, edit them, or anything they'd like. But they may not change titles, nor delete/edit comments. An 'edit' button would be on the upper right-hand corner of the story.
Each story would have a minimum of... Well, I don't know... 300? 400? 500? 1,000? Something fairly large to prevent any spammed posts. This would only apply for those creating a story, not editing one.
At the top of the list of stories would be a button that reads: "Story". Once clicking it, you'd come to a clear page. Here, you may type out the story. If there were a filter, it would prevent your story from being posted.
And, of course, each story would contain a 'Report' button. I suspect some posts would be spammed, which would make this button convenient. Very convenient.

What do you mean by this?

By this, I mean there is a certain amount of words/letters/whatever that is required. This would prevent people from posting something very stupid to take up space in the list of stories.
Also, this means you don't have to type 300/400/500/whatever words/letters every time you visited the 'Edit' mode. The 'Edit' mode would be used to add onto your story, fix errors, and the like. You only have to put 300/400/500 whatever many words/letters when first posting a story.

I know that, Xman. But it still wouldn't be necessary. And that ability could be abused... Think about all the trolls and spammers posting inappropriate photos on their cover. |

I LOVE the idea. Absolutely! Now, I would prefer a system like Uservoice, but with only zero and one vote so there wouldn't be abuse. I don't exactly like "down" voting due to "morons". :)

Sure I guess. I love writing stories :D Whenever a teacher says "write a short 1 or 2 page story" I always write six to eight... not because I plan to, just because I get carried away... |

I like it.
However, some idiots would likely copy and paste whole books, so there should be a way to prevent that. maybe putting the story into a picture file, so they can't copy and paste the words. You can't paste a picture in ROBLOX yet, so that might work. |
