If you create a thread you should be able to delete comments so that you can prevent your thread from being deleted prevent spammers and prevent a flame war

There are threads that I would like to delete too. Ones I wish I never made. Or was put in the wrong place. Being able to change the category will be good too. The Creator/Owner of the Thread only I mean.

People would take advantage of this. They will post a ridiculous idea and delete any comments that disagree with their idea.

No. People would abuse this to get rid of criticism. The forums are not supposed to be a place where just one person gets to have control over what is posted.
