The police station was dimly lighted and the paint was wearing away after getting treated from the hospital Dan was taken to the police station and they began questioning.
“Why did you fight that boy?”
“It’s personal.”
“Look kid the faster you tell us the faster you can leave alright.”
“There’s this girl….who I turned down for someone else and her brother fought me.”
“That seems reasonable enough…but what about the flare gun?”
“Well after I beat him I was about to leave and he pulled it on me…officer.”
“What’s the kid’s name?”
“Well I don’t want to be a snitch but….his names Josh.”
“Should have known that drug addict would be involved in this.”
“Wait…Josh is on drugs?”
“Steroids and ecstasy pills.”
“Dan you’re free to go just stay out of trouble we don’t want you to end up like your parents.”
Dan got up and left the interrogation room and walked down the hall inmates were staring at him and shouting to help them out. Dan ignored them and continued on to the double doors and opened them as if the devil himself was watching him Josh was getting out of a police cruiser with his hands cuffed and
his nose bloody.
“Well josh looks like I won you better stay away from me and my friends.”
Josh didn’t even say a word he just has a smug look on his face. Dan continued on home and opened his house door no one was home as usual but there was some commotion in the living room. He cautiously headed into the living room and to his surprise Jenny was sitting down watching some TV. Dan was trying to quietly make his way to the kitchen, Jenny got up looked at him hugged him slapped him then finally punched him in the gut.
“Ok….i deserved that.”
“Actually I think you deserved more…but because it’s your birthday soon I’ll keep you out of the hospital.”
“Lucky…me and how did you get in my house no wait why are you in my house?”
“Dan I’ve known you for years and you really got to change the spot where you hide your spare key.”
Jenny showed the key and Dan grabbed it from her. There was a knock on the door and they both turned their heads.
