What I didn't understand about Best Picture at the Academy Awards this year.

I was half dissapointed with the list for Best Picture this year, for some movies I can understand being there (like The Artist, War Horse, Moneyball and Hugo), but some of the other nominees seemed out there to me. To point specific fingers, WHY was a movie like Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close nominated? I heard it was a pretty bad movie, and to go into a more specific area, why weren't movies like Tin Tin or Deathly Hallows nominated? They didn't even have to win, I'm just wondering why other movies weren't nominated? Anyone else agree?

@Lynrd You probably just hate Harry P0tter because it was one of the best movies of the year. I think Rise of the Planet of the Apes should have been nominated too.

@batman, It did, it was really obvious that it would, I was just saying that it should have been atleast nominated. @Lynrd, 96% on the Tomatometer. Explaination?
