Does it matter? France has failed throughout history in many different ways.

@logmanjr I didn't know that the enemy of any given faction likes to stand in the open and get picked off. Some abstract tactics you have going on there.

They weren''t using muskets by the late 1800's. They were using bolt-action rifles, revolvers, even machine guns (Look up the Maxim gun if you don't believe that part)

>British But that adjective means "failing" or "unsuccessful". How can it be used to describe an Empire?

@Asassin, I think you have the terms "British" and "French" mixed up.

French and British really mean the same thing. Losing to every rebellion at all costs.

Yes, reading these last posts, I must join the bandwagon and agree with you fine fellows. :P The British Empire of course did have its moments under Queen Elizabeth, and even anti-Franks must admire the tactical genius of Napoleon Bonaparte, but other than that, the exemplary United States of America pretty much trumps all else.

All empires failed miserably and lots of people died for nothing. End of story.

@vallindell Bonaparte was good, but when he tried to take over that one country, you gotta admit it was an epic fail. I think it was Europe.
