This would be really helpful when people collab on games. For example, as Im posting this, me and my friend are building a Sci Fi fort, but there are a few things it needs that you can only find in studio. -Insert things like scripts, teams, seat - Toolbox so we dont have to use Stamper bricks -Command bar to test some scrips -The ability to put decals on things and insert previously made models (Not FMs). It could revolutionize building. And, what harm could it do anyway? Support or no support? ~Teh Epic Bunneh

How about simply identical to Studio in EVERY way apart from a player list (Reduced in size) and a mesh of a camera representing different players.

Or just identical to Studio Build mode in every way with a player list that is already hidden.... ~Teh Epic Bunneh

But with camera models representing players =P I see how you could use the Explorer to see who is in Players. There would have to be other features such as everyone having to agree to start Play Solo, Start Server and Start Player.

Support. The other way would take much mroe work Q_Q, also, elaborate? Only invited people allowed? Friends only? if, say, two people made a game, would the profits be split 50/50?

This would be like running a Roblox server, so I would say that if Roblox did do this, at least the "host" of the server would have to have BC. Just a precedent set by Personal servers.

I just wish that private servers would allow the players with admin rank to use studio >_>

I would NOT like multiplayer studio like that, though! I would want a CLEAN, PAUSED environment for my building.

Kinda like a Personal Server Studio. ~Teh Epic Bunneh

But dont many people build in Roblox Studio?

@ Notun Im just saying basically a normal personal server environment...with features of Studio build mode. It would make building much easier. For example, I frequently need to insert block and cylinder meshes. ~Teh Epic Bunneh

Also, making a paused physics environment in an online server might not be as easy to achieve, but I could be wrong.

#64509222Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:23 PM GMT

Ah, but Studio is easier still as you can save places to your hard drive and upload them to Roblox. The game is paused so no scripts run and no blocks fall. After all, you wouldnt want your super-complex game to start running while you are still making it, would you?

@Shobobo99: Its VERY possible. I doubt very much that it will be harder to make than standard roblox servers are.

Good idea. That would be better then just going on people's accounts to help them.

Yeah, Notunknown99's idea is what I would think is useful. When I think about it, it shouldn't be that hard. Although it wouldn't be as smooth as local studio since it is in an online server.

What about a player can invite other players to build with them whilst they are making something in studio? And if the player accepts then the studio gets converted to online and only the host can save the game. @Shobobo99: It should be smoother than normal games due to no script/physics calculations.

I support for this to be limited to local networks only.
Notunknown99
#64509947Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:33 PM GMT

@frittle: So everything is run from the hosts computer?
Shobobo99
#64510019Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:34 PM GMT

I don't think Roblox would allow us to host it on our computers, just look at Personal servers.
Notunknown99
#64510106Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:35 PM GMT

Well why wouldnt they? Most other online games do it. I belive that XBox games also do it.
Shobobo99
#64510657Saturday, March 17, 2012 10:43 PM GMT

For the same reason they didn't allow it in Personal servers :/ The exact reason I am not sure.
