I was thinking of making an RPG, as Lords of Range's Cape has always been one of my favorite games.
I may or may not be making a group of my own crew helping me make this RPG.

If you let multiple people work on it it will fail because everything would need to be very basic to work together, making it pretty much a collection of free models. |

i can program amazingly out of java, have done a successful (small) rpg with it, and i am quickly increasing in lua, which if you need proof just enter my game a little. it does take time, so i would be interested if we had multiple people. |

I could possible give you some ideas, I tend to have some mostly never used weps and such in my RPG. Most RPG's simply have swords, I'm working on wide varieties of weapons: Staves, Bows, Swords, Axes, Hammers, Etc.
So I may be able to help in the idea department. |

I also use some commonly un-used mobs.
Sorry to say, but things like Goblins for starter mobs around Lv. 5 are really overused... Average person got to a "Level 5" in real life, and they would find that Goblin's weapon shoved through their forehead; just sayin'. |

Fighting should work through probability
ie:
1) If you go into battle with a lvl 5 goblin you're level 2 with a rubbish weapon the chance is that you would die.
2) But if you enter as level 6 with a okayish weapon there is a fair chance you would kill it.
3) Moreover if you ente as level 2 with a okayish weapon the chance is that the goblin will kill you as your inexperianced compared to it.
4) Likewise if you enter as level 6 with a rubbish weapon you still have a fair chance.
Basically this: (the numbers corraspond to examples)
Likely Chance: 2
Fair Chance : 3,4
No Chance : 1

Good idea, I hate all the RPG's where you just swing your sword at monsters and they just don't die! Realistically, everytime you hit a monster, they would get chopped up! |
