This is the official guide to Survival Castaway. You will not find recipe's in here but this is for people who need help starting.
STEP 1.) Getting Started
When you first step foot in the game you'll notice a few things. You will see your stat bars, which indicate how hungry or thirsty you are. This is explained later. At the top of your screen you will also see a bar of Gui's which are explained later. If for any reason at the beginning of the game your tool doesn’t load press the fix button at the top. Now after the game loads you are going to want to open the tool on your screen. Do this by clicking on it or pressing the number 1 on your keyboard. After doing this some more Gui's will pop up including; Wearing, Inventory and, Craft. Those are explained later. Now that you have your tool open your going to want to go explore around for awhile.
STEP 2.) Gathering
Now that you have a crude idea of what your surrounding's look like your going to want to start to gather items. Do this by clicking on the item. After clicking on what you want to gather a Gui should appear, press gather and a small list of items will appear. Click on the item you want to gather then look in your inventory. If you did this correctly that item should now be in your inventory, if your still confused go ask somebody to help you and they might clarify this.
STEP 3.) The Gui's and Tools
You probably already noticed the array of Gui's crowding your screen. Below i will go through and explain all of them for you.
A.) Fix Tool Gui
This Gui button at the top left of your screen is mostly for fixing your tool in the start of the game. If any other Gui is broken close anything you might have open and press this button. It will keep your items and restore all of your items back, and most likely fix whatever problem you have.
B.) The Version Gui
This Gui button in the top middle/left of your screen tells you the current game version and any updates i may have made. Just scroll your mouse over it and a description will appear.
C.) The Chat Range
This Gui button in the top middle/right of your screen is the most often used. When you click on this button a list will appear showing the four main chat functions. Whispering is the quietest and is used to tell something to only one person, but beware they may still be able to see your chat bubble. Speak is to tell something to people in the immediate area around you, and is louder than whisper. Shout is the most commonly used chat function because you can say stuff to people on the entire island around you, and dose not take away from your energy. Global is the loudest chat function and is used to talk to the whole world, and people on other islands. This is great but bewear it takes 25% of your energy away whenever you talk, and if you don’t have enough energy will automatically set your chat to shout.
D.) The Help Gui
This is basically a simple help Gui that tells you pretty much what im telling you right now.
E.) Your Stat's Gui
This Gui is on the bottom left of your screen and tells you what your current stats are. When one or more of your stats get's low the stat name will stat to blink to warn you. If you let one of these to get all the way down to zero you will die, and your body will drop a Tombstone. When you die you will notice a small brownish part, this is your Tombstone. If you hurry back fast enough, and nobody is around to steal your stuff, you can gather most of your stuff back from this small part. If you go swimming you will see your energy start to drop, and in winter so will your health. Don't let this get to zero or you will die. The health and energy stats will regain strength as time go's on. The hunger and thirst stats on the other hand drop as time go's on. Your goal is to keep this above zero so you can survive.
F.) Wearing Gui
This Gui is so you can put on armor and clothes. When you craft armor a small item will appear in this Gui. This will show you how strong it is and what type of armor it is. If you click on the name an option will appear to allow you to wear it. The person's body parts will light up according to what you are wearing.
G.) Inventory Gui
This is a very important part of the game. When you gather or craft an item it will appear on a list within the Gui. It will show the item and the weight of the item. The max weight of your inventory is 1000 so be wear not to put to much in there. To take an item out click on the name and click either take or take all. Taking an item will take one out of your inventory while taking all will remove a whole stack of the item. To simply remove an item press remove or to remove a whole stack press remove all. If you need help ask another person in the game.
H.) Craft Gui
This is what you use to craft recipes with. To craft open this up then click on the items that you think will make the recipe, then press the green craft button. The items can come in any order. If you successful then an option will appear asking you what it is you want to craft. Select what you need to make then wait while it crafts. If you messed up and want to stop crafting then walk away from the items then retry. If the items you put in isn’t a recipe then nothing will happen when you press craft. If your still not understanding ask somebody in the game to help you.
I.) Tool Bar Gui
When you make a tool it should appear in the bar below the craft and inventory. To activate the tool click it or press the number key on your keyboard that is in the top left of the tool's button. To take a tool out you must take it out of your inventory and set it on the ground.
STEP 4.) Making A Boat
Making a boat is some what difficult so pay close attention. Craft a Drivers seat and go get 1 log. Set the log flat on the ground and put the drivers seat weld down on the log. Push it into the water and hop on then you can set sail. Try different items and configurations to try to make it go faster. To make it go a lot faster set a branch weld side on the boat then put something like a Leaf roof one the side of the branch. If you did this right it should stick and you now have a sail boat. Also do not remove the drivers seat on the boat or it will become unstable.
STEP 5.) Tip's
Here are some helpful things to know. Don’t cut to many tree's down, the more you cut down the less they will produce. Also avoid cutting all the trees down, because if you do then your stuck on an island with few resources. Also try to keep two or more animals around so they can repopulate. If you kill all but one then no new animals will be born in that herd/island. If you click on the animal your have the option to make it go away or to feed it. If you feed it enough, and its a friendly animal, then you'll be able to command it. Don't leave your boat alone for to long or you might risk losing it. You can eat items like leaves but there not to healthy for you, but if that’s all you got then it may be able to hold you out for a little longer.
STEP 6.) Simple Recipe's
You skipped down to this part didn’t you :3. Here are some starter recipe's to help you get started. There are more but these should help you out if your stuck,
A.) Rope
Wheat bundle + Wheat bundle OR Leaves + Leaves
B.) Stone spear
Branch + Small stone
C.) Wooden wall
Log + Log
D.) Wooden Hut
Wooden wall + Wooden wall + Leaf roof
E.) Stone axe/Stone Pickaxe
Stone + Stick + Rope
F.) Wooden Bucket
Stick + Rope
G.) Leaf roof
Leaves + Leaves
H.) Flint
Small stone + Small stone
I.) Thatch
Wheat bundle + Wheat bundle
J.) Driver's seat/Seat

To plant stuff heres wht you do: Set a seed onto the ground and wait for it to grow. If you put it on compost it'll grow faster. |
