So, yeah, ROBLOX does have contests, but you don't get anything from them besides a virtual hat, which may or may not be satisfying, and the 1st place place isn't even that cool.
What ROBLOX should do, once a year (or maybe every few years if they don't want to do it too often) is have an admin judged contest based on one topic, give the community 3 months to build the place to go with the contest, and then they start judging. Possibly a 1 dollar submit fee, so that the judges could get payed, I'm not sure though.
There will be 2 qualifying rounds, and then 6 rounds to find the winner.
The first qualifying round will be about if there's something in the place or not. If there isn't anything in it, and it's just an empty baseplate, or a starting place, they delete it from the competition. Maybe there would be an auto delete machine. I'm not really that sure. Maybe if the game doesn't have more than 40 items in it (bricks, scripts, guis, etc.) it would delete, or if it has one of the starter places that has more than 40 bricks. That would just make it a bit easier for the judges.
The second qualifying round will still be easy, although it will eliminate tons of games. The judges will go through the places, checking the thumbnail to see if it looks like it has anything to do with the topic, and if it doesn't it would just be deleted.
Finally, after the 2 qualifying rounds, the real rounds begin. The judges would look at the thumbnails, and set a standard for the places, and if the thumbnail did not meet the standards, it would be deleted.
the second and third real rounds would follow the same way.
By the fourth real round, it should be lowered down to about 200-700 places. The judges would then actually play the places, and see if they were any good, and if they are all good, they would see which ones were the best. They would have to delete places until they lowered it down from 50-150 places.
On the fifth round, the judges have 50-150 places, and they write down compliments and things that would make it better and somehow notify the player that made it. They would lower it down to 10 places, and then move on to the next round.
On the sixth and final round, they would make a video review for the top 10 places, showing on each one more critisism, and telling what made the place better from the others, and possibly a little trailer for the video. They would decide the top 3, give them a badge or whatever, possibly free month BC (not neccisary, I just thought it'd be a nice bonus), and on the games page, put a 'Contest of The Year (or how many ever years) Winners' box, and put the top 3 places on that for the rest of ROBLOX to see every single time they get on the games page until the next contest begins.
The advantage to this is, instead of getting just a hat, you would get pretty much unlimited bragging rights, free advertisement, and... wait for it... a BADGE! I dunno, if ROBLOX wants to make a hat for them aswell, go ahead. This would make ROBLOX building have a point. To win.
Rules
______________________________________________
I may not list some of the rules that ROBLOX would put in, just because I'm not perfect, and I may not even think about some.
1) Must follow rules of ROBLOX
2) Must follow the subject
3) Must be made by YOU
4) You must accept that you will be critisized if you make it far enough into the contest
5) The place must be active
6) If the place is in the top 3, you will have to keep it on your active places until ROBLOX does a new contest
7) Must follow any other rules ROBLOX would put on this list that I have forgotten. |
