Hi there guys. My game is kinda hard so I think you guys need some stuff to start with. This is the Stranded: Episode One - Starter Guide - The official One. The game can be found here: http://www.roblox.com/Stranded-Episode-One-Favorite-place?id=70200915 IF YOU WANT to help with the game, look here: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=54151398&PageIndex=1 Thanks! We need any help to make this great! Table of contents: 1. Goal of the game 2. Tools 3. Information 3a. Secondary Important Information (Still read)(FAQ) 4. Islands 5. Recipes 5a. Tool Infomation 6. Tips and Tricks: How to be pro on Stranded? (Elite tricks by the owner!) 7. Official Rules 1. Goal of the game The goal of Stranded is very simple: Survive on islands where humans never have been. You strand after a ship crash in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. No one has ever set feet there so there is no technology. You find yourself warped back into the Prehistoric Age. The way how you survive totally depends on you. The main tactics are: --Simple Survivor --Technology Survivor --Scavenger (Pirate) --Traveller (Trader) Simple Survivor: You survive very simple. In theory you only eat and drink natural food, but in practical you sometimes also make some houses. You normally have a static home and try to live small and peacefull so no one has any need to harm you. Primary Buildings: Some simples stuff like houses Technology Survivor: These survivors are the simple survivor but then they want to evolve to better ages to make living simpler. They normally live in tribes and help eachother. Primary Buildings: A range of different buildings Scavenger (Pirate) These dont have a static home and roam around the islands to steal everything they can. They plunder tribes, steal food and technology. Primary Buildings: Ships Traveller (Trader) This is actually the same as the Scavenger, but now in 'Peace mode'. They roam around the world and sometimes craft some stuff to trade with tribes all around the world. Primary Buildings: Ships 2. Tools --The gather tool-- The gather tool is used to gather all stuff from around the world. Ranging from fruit to wood to stones, everything is gatherable in theory. If you open the gather tool a GUI pops up with gives you information: Quality: The quality of the object. The better the quality, the faster tools are, the more damage they do, the longer they last... Summarized: The better the quality, the better the end product. Flamable: Is the object flamable, and how much? Mass: How heavy is the object? Volume: How much space does it take (The more space, the faster ur backpack gets full) Rarity: Gives you an expression on how rare objects are. Natural resources are normally rarity 1, but for example the rare mineral Amethyst is Rarity 10 The forage bar says what you want to forage. The name of the object. Primary Use: Gives you a hint of what you can craft with it. Forage Time: How much time in seconds you need to forage it - OR gives other information such as "My backpack is full". --Backpack tool-- The backpack tool allows you to look into your backpack. The gather tool gets all stuff you gather into the backpack. The colors of the buttons make it more clear. If you have more of one resource it doesnt create a new button but says that you have 2 of that resource. To put something on the ground, click on the object and place it somewhere near you, within 5 studs. --The eat/drink tool-- Click on anything you want to eat to eat or drink it. It shows you how much health/hunger/thirst/lungs you get from it. --The craft tool-- The craft tool allows you to create objects. Select the ingredients, then click the button you want to use. If you want to upgrade anything, the object u want to upgrade goes as first in the list. Repairing allows you to repair your own buildings. For example if you placed a Pallisade Wall wrong, you can repair it to place it on a better place. --Upgrade: Upgrades anything. --Downgrade: Downgrades --Process: Used to make composts later --Create Item: Creates an item, example: Wall --Create tool: Creates a tool, example: Pickaxe --Create building: Creates a building OR a boat --Repair: Repairs everything in the list if possible --Clear list: Clears the list 3. Information --The health/hunger/thirst/lungs bar: This bar shows your current health. Health: Your health. Goes down if your lungs is negative, if you are sick or eat bad food. Lungs: Goes down while swimming or global chatting. You dont die if it reaches 0 Hunger: Goes down if you dont eat anything. Thirst: Goes down if you dont drink anything --Chat-- To chat you can use the prefix g/ To chat global - so anyone can hear you. Otherwise its normal chat. Normal chat: Example: "Hi there!" --> Everyone withing 50 studs gets this message. No penalty Global chat: Example: "g/ Hello there!" --> Everyone on the server can hear this. Penalty: 50 lungs damage by default. Yes, you can die of global chatting. If you use any bad word, the text will transform in [Content Deleted]. Server messages are Yellow - always read those. Max messages on screen is 10. Your max length of a message is 150 characters. Chat colors are: White: Normal Chat Green: Global Chat Yellow: Server Chat, Information Chat, Announcement Chat, Thoughts of self. 3a. Secondary Important Infomration (FAQ) Q: How do I swim? Hop in the water. If you want to dive, hit the dive button next to your lungs bar. Notice that your lungs will go down MUCH faster after then. If you want to hop out, just hit your spacebar! Q: How does "Stats" work? Open the Stats button above your screen. You now have a fancy screen will all stats in the game. Currently these are the Stonemasonry and Combat skills. You can see here what your level is and how much XP you need for the next level (the green bar, if there is no green bar you dont have XP for that level yet) Skills influence a lot. Your speed, Your damage, etc. Its very important to keep track of those. The best part? They save on the server! If you leave the game and come back 2 hours later (for example) and you are on the same server, you get ALL your skills back! Q: Do My buildings delete? Nope, you are always the owner of them. If you come back on the same server you can repair them :) (Note that later the buildings WILL delete after a period of time if you are not in any tribe OR the tribe is deleted) Q: The Tribe button doesnt work! Yes, Its not scripted yet. Dont worry. Q: I want to help! Nice! Join our group and help us - or post on the forum topic - or PM me (jobro13) 4. Islands: Beach island: Island with coconuts and raspberries. Spawn island. Pirate lagoon: Lagoon with waterfalls and a cave with rocks. Spawn island. Mainland: Huge island with mountains, a cave, rocks and med wood. Spawn island Big mountain: Mountain with a lot of secrets. Find them all! Small mine: Small mine with a lot of stones. 5. Recipes You didnt skip to here right? :) This game is all about the tools and not that much about crafting. Remember that QUALITY of the objects used influences a lot: the damage, the number of hits you need, everything! Find good quality stuff to create good quality stuff! --Create tool-- A tool is something you use to create objects with. --> Tier 1: Prehistoric tools Hammerstone: Small Stone Simple Stone Axe: Stone Axe Head Stone Axe: Stone Axe Head + Medium Wooden Handle Stone Adze: Stone Adze Head + Medium Wooden Handle Stone Pickaxe: Stone Pickaxe Head + Medium Wooden Handle A weapon is something you primary use to it humans (or animals) --> Tier 1 : Prehistoric Weapons Prehistoric Club: Medium Handle Prehistoric Mace: Heavy Stone ball + Medium Wooden Handle Simple Stone Dagger: Stone blade --> Create Building A * Will mean the building can be upgraded - look at the upgrade list for more information! --> Prehistoric Buildings, Tier 1 Crude Hut: Big Wall + Big Wall + Palm Leaves OR Big Wall + Big Wall + Medium Leaves Crude Storage Hut*, Small Crude Shop*: Wall + Wall + Small Leaves + Small Leaves Crude Tool Shed*: Wall + Wall + Small Leaves OR Wall + Wall + Palm Leaves Prehistoric Fence: Small Wooden Handle + Small Wooden Handle + Large Wooden Handle Prehistoric Longhouse: Wall + Wall + Medium Leaves + Medium Leaves Prehistoric Wall: Wall + Wall --> Prehistoric Ships Raft: Hull -->Create Item Wall: Med Wood + Med Wood Hull: Plank + Plank Big Wall: Wall + Wall --> Upgrade * Means it can be upgraded Large Crude Storage Hut: Crude Storage Hut + Wall + Small Leaves Medium Crude Shop*: Small Crude Shop + Wall + Small Leaves Tool Shed*: Crude Tool Shed + Wall + Small Leaves Large Tool Shed: Tool Shed + Wall + Medium Leaves OR Tool Shed + Wall + Palm Leaves Crude Marketplace: Medium Crude Shop + Big Wall + Big Wall + Small Leaves + Small Leaves --> Downgrade Most objects you can upgrade can be downgraded too --> Repair: Fill in your craft with buildings you want to repair (aka retool) and hit Repair. Every building that CAN be repaired (the building is yours, is full health and isnt that far away) will be destroyed and you get the tool to place it back! -->Summarized Creation of items by tools: Heavy Stone ball: Hammerstone on Medium Rock Large Wooden Handle: Hammerstone on Small Wood Medium Wooden Handle: Hammerstone on Large Wooden Handle Small Wooden Handle: Hammerstone on Medium Wooden Handle Stone Pickaxe Head: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Axe Head: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Burin: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Awl: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Blade: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Point: Hammerstone on Small Wood Stone Adze Head: Hammerstone on Small Wood Small Wood: Axe on Med Wood Plank: Adze on Med Wood Ores: Pickaxe on Mineral Wall 5a. Tool Information What do those tools do? Please note that tools will mostly need multiple hits to make something. The better the stonemasonry skill for example, the less hits you need for a hammerstone to create something. Also, the quality of a tool is also a factor for the number of hits calculator. Normally it is; n = (Q+Sk)/2 Where Q is the Quality and Sk is the average of the skills that influence it. Example, a Hammerstone level 10 and stonemasonry level 1 will need: n = (Q + Sk)/2 = (10 + 1)/2 = 11/2 = 5.5 Always round up, so 5.5 gets 6. 6 hits. And if the average was 5.1 then it also needs 6 hits ;) --> Hammerstone Can be used on: Small rock --> Get any tool head (Pickaxe/Axe/Adze/Burin/Point/Blade/Awl) Medium rock --> Get Heavy Stone ball Small Wood --> Get Large Wooden Handle Large Wooden Handle --> Get Medium Wooden Handle Medium Wooden Handle --> Get Small Wooden Handle Humans: Does very small damage. -->Stone Axe / Simple Stone Axe The difference between the axe and the simple axe is the strength. With the same leve, simple axes need 2x more hits than the normal Stone Axe. You use an Axe on Medium Wood to create small wood. You actually cut the wood into a piece. Very handy on islands where you cannot find small wood! --> Stone Adze If you dont know what an adze is, google it. Its hard to explain. Its like an axe, but then the blade is turned 90 degrees so it doesnt cut vertically but horizontal. You can use it on Med Wood to create Planks. You actually scrape stuff off the wood so you get perfect looking planks. --> Stone Pickaxe You can use the pickaxe on any Mineral Wall (those fancy colored walls you can find in caves) to get a LOT of minerals. The current minerals are the following. Note that every mineral has small, medium and large minerals. Also note that you cannot do a lot with them, but mining is super cool and you can use it to decorate your house :D In the future: 5 small makes 1 large 3 medium make 1 large You normally craft with large ores (later). Also, the chances of getting this stuff is the following: -->Native ores: When other ore randomness is NOT trigerred. --> Special Ores: 1/20 --> Rare Ores: 1/30 --> Super Rare Ores: 1/40 What can you get? --> Native ores: Copper Ore Tin --> Special Ores Sulfur Coal Limestone --> Rare Ores Uranium Bauxite --> Super Rare Ores Amethyst Remember to use it on the mineral walls. You can currently find 2 of them in the world. --> Prehistoric Club: Simple weapon. --> Prehistoric Mace: Better weapon than club. Best Weapon in the game. 6. Tips and Tricks: As you guys can imagine, Stranded is all about efficiency and skills. To make sure everyone can work on full speed, some things can be used to speed things up. For example. To clear your whole backpack, you open your backpack and hit V on your keyboard. That will clear your whole backpack. Craft has hotkeys. Put everything in your craft you want to craft and then hit: E: Upgrade R: Downgrade T: Process Y: Create Item U: Create Tool J: Create Building K: Repair L: Clear List How can you simply know what key you need? Well, as you can see those keys are sorted from the buttons from left to right: Upgrade - Downgrade - Process - Create Item - Create Tool - Create Building - Repair - Clear List E - R - T - Y - U - J - K - L I will add a feature later so that you can select your own hotkeys! The next part of this tips and tricks guide will be about Efficiency, Strategy and Tips (some cool stuff I thought of) Efficiency As I just staed this game is all about Efficiency. In the end, the guy/tribe that makes the stuff fast will dominate the server in the end. To reach this, you need to think in priorities. What do you need first? Food. So, if you want to work 10 minutes straight after each other, keep food nearby. Lets do some simple math. You need 30 seconds each time to run to the trees to get apples. You also need 30 seconds to walk back. That results in a minimum of 1 minute to get food. What if you already get food to last 10 minutes so that you dont have to walk? 1 minute get food (minimum) 10 minutes work. Lets say that after 2.5 minutes u need to eat. If you dont get food, you need to run 4 times to dont starve. That will result in: 4 minutes get food 10 minutes work. That actually is a difference of 3 minutes. Imagine what other tribes can do in 3 minutes! And after 1 hour? That will take a LOT of time! It is even more efficient to - lets go to the Strategy part Strategy The best way to play Stranded is in teams/tribes. The best way to organize that is to give people tasks. You can switch later of tasks if it gets boring, but for example you have 3 people including yourself. You assingn ONE to create tool heads, ONE to get food and ONE to get a lot of walls. After like 15 minutes of work you have a LOT of tools, a very experienced stonemasonry guy (Stonemasonry skill goes up + 1XP everytime you create something), and a lot of walls and maybe even a huge food storage where you can last some minutes from. Like this, you dont work (as described above in efficiency) 3 minutes, then need to get food. Use your normal chat wisely. You can take people apart to tell them stuff others cant hear - make sure no one is eavesdropping. You cannot see who is who, however after a chat you can hear (see... in the game) who is talking. But, if you dont talk you can set up a mask and pretend you are someone else. Perfect! Dont go out in the night because its so dark :) Tips: You can use 2 hammerstones to create a "Dual Hammerstone". You can tap between those. The cool stuff about it is, that if you hit something with a hammerstone, whatever the quality is, a hit is 1 hit and that will never go up or down. Like that you can hit a stone with a quality 1, then hit with quality 10 and thus you get an item 2x as fast as normal! :D 7. Official Rules: Everything is allowed on Stranded. However, what is NOT: -Destroy custom made buildings -Haxor -Expl01tor. -Anyone that does this risks a ban from the game. You need proof if you want to get someone banned.

@Above; In real life, if you need a pickaxe head you will try to shape the stone like that head. Thus, conclusion: You can actually choose what you want to make. The next update will have buttons to select your choice. However, Nice idea!

1 Small stone into tool? What doesnt work? The stone itself works - you need to use it on GATHERED objects - always, for all tools. And you need a maximum of 10 hits in total to convert something.
