I sat on an old bench on what used to be a bus stop. Smoke billowed all around me, and I can baely see. I dig in my pack and find n energy bar and munch on it, thinking. i look behind me and see a dog limping around, so I stand up and walk pver. I pet it's head and ask,
"Where'd you come from?" |

I stumble around, trying to find my way through some dust. "Goddammit...That earthquake was hell..." I find a flashlight on the ground. "Thank God." I try to turn it on, but the batteries are dead. "Crap!" I begin a journey to somewhere that might not have experienced the earthquakes. |

The dog whimpers, poor guy. Most of his fur is gone, his tail is no more, and he's missing an eye. I look around, but can hardly see anything hrough the smoke. My eyes egin to burn, so I dig in my pack again. I put on some old goggles I had found sitting around, and slip them on. I keep digging and find a battery powered hair dryer I had picked up out f random, and turn it on. The smoke doesn't blow much, but I'm able to find a three story white building with all the doors and windows blocked, but a small hole- about the size of the dog- in the gorund. I slip in and fall throught the weak wood floor, into the basement, and look around. An old fridge is nearby, but it smells so terrible I know the food wouldn't be any good. I yell,
"Anyone here?" |

(Sarath, few buildings would still be in a good enough shape to go in the door and all the flashlights would be broken, dead. These wern't normal earthquakes, they were 50x worse than Haiti and Japan combined.) |

I stumble out on the street, hearing the rumble of buildings coming down and the screams of the people. I scream myself, and run to my home. |

(One more thing, guys, this is a week after the huge earthquake, so everyones dead and alll the buildings are gone, only tremors are left shifting the rubble around... Sorry for the confusion.) |

She stumbles around the ruins, making one last check for any survivors. She had found a drawstring bag and filled it with anything she could find. The ground gave a small tremor and she clutched to the nearest wall, or what was left of a wall. She looked through a new flurry of hazy dirt and blinked. Over the past week she had found three water bottles and a few lunchboxes with food that were mostly crushed sandwiches, chips, cookies, and powdered drink packets which she stuffed into the drawstring bag. She had also recovered a few pieces of clothing from her crushed hotel room along with a few items from her friend's dorm room. |

I start to sing to myself to calm down. Again. I sit down in the rubble, searching through it to find something useful. |

I feel a small tremor and dust picks up in the room, mixing with the smoke. I hear a crash and begin to cough. Once it's cleared, I see rubble has fallen from the cellar door, but the stairs are out. I dig around in my pack and pull out my pocketknife, and cut the extra strap off my pack. I swing it at the open cellar until I get a hook, then try to climb up, thinking about the rope climb in my old gym class. As I near the top, the rope slips and I fall down to the cracked concrete floor.
"Crap..." I get back up and look at the cellar doo, frowning. I then notice the rubble... most of it's hollow. I push it to make a makeshift staircase and begin up, into the building.
The ceiling is gone and most of the walls have caved in, and blood soaks the floor. I see a hand- bleeding- barely coming out from under a chunk of the wall and whats left of a sofa. I shudder and do a 360, checking my surroundings. |

She takes a deep breath as the tremors die down and she walks around the partial wall and shifts around the rubble, looking for anything interesting. |

I awaken right in the middle of downtown indy, I remember that I was working in the tallest building there, The chase tower, Luckily I was on a break, all I see now is thick dust and buildings collapsed... I get up and look around trying to find anyone in need of help... |

I look around, stunned at what happened. There was shaking all around, and glass even fell off the building |

She gives an exploded soup can a small kick and decides there's nothing here worthwhile. She heads towards downtown Indianapolis, realizing that the only reason she was here was to see her friend, who had most likely died. Carly quickly smears away the tear forming in her eye and pulls her bag higher up on her shoulders. She notices a man, well off down the main road. She looked around at the ruins. "Wow," she said loudly, purposely drawing attention to herself. |

Looking around, I look at the damages. It was pretty bad. But then I saw the bodies. "Hello?!" I shouted. |

I continue my search looking for survivors, I find one stuck under some rubble, I dig her out, although she has lost her leg... I quickly try taking her to any hospital that is open... if there is one... |

I see all of the collapsed buildings, except two that sand next to each other. The One World Trade Center, and the Jadis Building. I make my way to them. |

I climb the hill of rubble and look around at theonce beautiful New York skylinee. The Freedom Tower and the Jadis Building stand in the background, so I decide that;s my destination. I carefully hop down onto an old van and then the street, making my wya to Manhattan. |
