I notice when I visit other forums that stickies tend to blend in. To an unobservamt user, that tends to mean they missed, say, the rules. Making them a bit more noticeable hopefully cuts down on the amount of crap we have to sift through. ~~ My mouse is bipolar. D: ~~

They do have special icons, but almost all of them show up as stars because of how often they are viewed. If you see one close to the time it was posted, depending on the forum it was posted in there would be a window of time in which you could view the special icon that they do have. One possibility would be to alter things so that the special icon stickies have are not replaced with a star when they are viewed a lot.
