like, a thread that hasn't been replied to in X amount of time gets auto locked, so people don't go around bumping threads from like 08

No support. If there is an old thread from '08 talking about something that I want to suggest. I'd rather go find it and bump it, than just make a whole new one. Also, the Hat Thread is old and is kept inactive for weeks or months, but it's still useful sometimes, so people aren't spamming hat suggestions. |

Unfair.
The threads that have been active for a very long time shouldn't be locked without reasoning. Sure, they're old, but that doesn't mean they're different from our threads.
You might consider them spam, but they haven't done anything wrong to harm the rules. Plus, we enjoy looking back at them, because they resemble what people wanted back then, and now where were getting to now. |

i consider people who bump threads from years ago spam, and simply locking those thread would prevent bumping of super old threads, and you could still look back at them.

That still doesn't answer why they should be locked.
So what if its spam? Everyone has an opinion, and everyone has free rights to talk. If the subject is irrelevant to the forum concept, then so be it. We can say its wrong, but we can't just attack them for their misunderstanding.
Remember, they are not different. If you say those 08 threads are spam, then so is this thread. |

you people obviously completely misunderstand the idea.
LOCK the old threads so people cant SPAM them and bring them up to the top, as it has happened multiple times before.
i never said that 08 thread THEMSELVES are spam, i said posts made NOW on old threads are spam. pay attention next time.

Meh. I understand, but what is the gain in accomplishing this? Because you cannot accept those threads OR the people who maliciously post over them for the favored appeal of doing so, does not concur that you've prevented just spam. Those users who bump those sort of threads may be ignorant, but what does that make you? Someone who cannot accept the fault and revise their undoing, rather then demanding an immediate action over nothing more but a small fabric of text?
Bvalere made a point. She said every thread serves an equal value, just like humans. I don't care whether or not you can see the threads. I wanna be able to share my comments, because those threads are not considered bad if their still relative to the concept of the forum, which is to provide a suggestion we can post on.
If this thread got locked, just like the 2008 threads and below, don't look at me. You want this to come into effect. Go ahead, see who'll making a change here. |
