THE ISSUE AT HAND: Ah, ROBLOX Weight can be such a wonderful thing, if it was updated that is. Let's face it, ROBLOXs weight is in major need of updating. I tried recently to make a Lever system for my place when I realized how bad this is. I wanted a simple system, you get on a side of a simple scale-like thing and when there we're enough people it'd sink down to a door so users can get out. Here's the problem, I wanted it to look realistic. How did I do this? I put a bunch ball bricks with the rock mesh inside of them. They were fairly big (10, 10, 10 to be exact) and I had 3 of them. So, in my mind I thought this would work out perfectly. You'd need a few players to help and so on. What was the problem? The problem is that each brick ways the same. Yes, the same. Any player could have played and been able to do it by them self. Now, these players are made up of 5 blocks, excluding hats. I had 3 giant rocks, but still, that player could beat them out. How is this possible? ROBLOX Physics. ROBLOX Physics usually impress me, quite honestly. I find it amazing that we can bring physics as amazing as ours to ROBLOX. Yes, they have some things that are flawed, but I can't blame them for that. As for the physics on Weight, I do have an issue (As explained above). HOW THIS WILL WORK: We're all familiar with a bricks properties, correct? I'm sure we are. So, I have a plan for how this could work and be of much help. We could simply put it into a brick! Much like Transparency or the Reflective feature. All bricks would start off at 1, because that is our universal weight for all bricks right now (So, no games would be changed!) This would be simple, as it would only have a scale of -5 to 5 (Decimals can be created). As most of you can probably tell, this would not effect anchored bricks, unless the player decides somehow it will. This decimal system can go as far back as 6 slots (Who'd honestly need more than that?) So, I could have bricks that way 0.000001 if I wish! And as I've said the limits are -5 and 5. If you're asking what negatives would do, they will simply lift a brick up instead of down. HOW CAN THIS AFFECT GAMES: Simple answer to that. It can open up more varieties than we already have. Think of the possibilities we could create! We could make working levers, scales, etc.! It would be a great way to give ROBLOXians even more options on creating, building, or even thinking of places! QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Q: Will this affect how bricks fall and they're speed? A: Bricks will all fall at the same speed. The laws of physics state that all things fall at the same speed. As for moving the brick, it will change. If the brick has it's weight set to 0, it will be very easy to move. If it is set to 5, it will still be movable, but barely. Q: Where will this property be placed? A: That is up for the ROBLOX Team to find out. I personally would like to see this placed somewhere near Friction and Elasticity. Q: Will this affect any games that have already been created? A: No! As I've said, the bricks weight now will be at ONE and the default weight will be ONE. So, no games would be changed unless the creator decides to change the weights himself. Thank you for reading this post, because I know it seemed long. I believe strongly in this idea and think it'd be a wonderful thing to have created. If you have any questions or concerns you may post them on this thread (If you'd like to ask me personally, message me. I'll upload it anonymously onto this thread.) Again, thank you for reading. [TL;DR Please, read this post. If you post saying TL;DR I will ignore it or report it as spam.] ▽ ::P::I::N::K:: ▽

I made a post like this, but it included springs. I wonder if I should bump it...

@Danny I think I do remember that thread a little bit. If it is the thread I think I remember, I implied much more to your springs. ▽ ::P::I::N::K:: ▽

So you are saying I can lift heavy bricks up with other bricks? Like a hot air balloon? Space games would be better and so would blimp wars. SUPPORT!

I support. At first I thought this forum was about having ROBLOX character weight.

@Rock I see why you would question the limits, but everything needs limits. I completely made the 5 up myself, they can go as high or low as they'd like. As for the doubling the density idea, that could work, but it'd be very complex. As I'd like to make some things big, but I might want them to weight less than something else the same size (For instance, a 5x5x5 block of foil is lighter that a 5x5x5 block of slate.) For the statue idea, that is completely scriptable (Weld script, I think). You way is good in some ways, but has flaws. Sill, the limits can be changed, but limits would be needed. ▽ ::P::I::N::K:: ▽

@rock 5 is a pretty big limit considering Transparency, Reflection, Elasticity, and Friction only go 0 - 1. ▽ ::P::I::N::K:: ▽

Support...but to clarify, nothing falls at the same speed. It depends on weight, shape and friction. hurr durr

Everything falls at the same speed, if I remember correctly. I did several experiments over the years about this in Science class. ▽ ::P::I::N::K:: ▽
