Here it goes. Let's put our focus toward comments again. Every day - every minute, rather, users are being victimized by "psuedo-prizes" and account-stealing surveys. It is time to take it head-on. If, Roblox developers, you're planning on "improving" the catalog (with the release of the updated format), you'd better fix the problems happening within the comment tabs. This is no new problem. We - namely, the users who want to use the site for its intended purposes - are fed up with the current use of the commentary tabs. It's time to propose new restrictions (or rewards) on Roblox commentary. Misuse will no longer be tolerated. Post your own suggestions HERE. --- These are my solutions: Option 1: FLAG SYSTEM Provide a "flag" button. Posts with a certain number of said flags will be automatically hidden or removed. Our moderators are fantastic, but they can't work that quickly. Option 2: SEARCH FILTER Search Roblox commentary for key words or phrases in a post. This could involve restricting the posting of the same Roblox-based link more than once on each item. Option 3: VOTE SYSTEM Provide a low amount of Tickets to users who "moderate" commentary with a "thumbs up" approach. Obviously, this could create problems; users should be required to enter a note about the comment or not receive payment until a majority that agrees with their choice is reached. Option 4: TICKET BID For every comment posted on the same item by the same user, raise a Ticket price by one. One comment would be a single ticket, but posting the same thing every fifteen seconds would really add up. "Tickets for comments" is a topic that has been touched by Shedletsky in the past, and has earned widespread support. --- What do YOU suggest?

If it costs tickets to comment, nobody would comment.

We already do a little bit of #2. I'm in favor of turning them off entirely, I haven't seen a ton of intelligent comments on items/games. We're also considering a thumbs up/down system for comments like YouTube has - so that bad comments are sorted to the bottom of the pile where no one sees.

Sounds good, first time I read over number 4 - I though people we're bidding to have some sort of spot that stays ontop for a set amount of time by paying tickets.

Nobody would comment ... unless they had something important to say. It would sure make the moderation a whole lot easier.

You can also "Flag as Spam" and if more than 5 flag it, you would get a message. After 5 spams, you get a notification, after 10, you get a day ban, and so on.

People might flag comments just to troll and be idiots.

Not neccesarly, people MUST agree. And once it gets too far, you must right a 100 Character Report.

Yes, would need an anti-flag spam system.

@Shedletsky I think removing comments is a good idea, as because most comments are just useless and are spam.

@Dashspin Unless the mods read the comment or when someone flags a comment and it goes through a fliter.

@Shedletsky We already do a little bit of #2? Explain this.

@zombie2u: I don't see why not. I'd say it's doing Google a favor, and videos can be blocked and censored. Roblox even embeds the videos for Robux. I like the idea of sifting comments, though. There are several iOS applications that hide comments after five negative votes. A "show hidden commentary" tab could also be enacted subsequent to viewing comments themselves.

I can't see how the like/dislike system is going to help things. It can be abused, just like comments are.

@Dashspin: yes, that could be a problem. Knowing myself, I'd probably just hit the down-vote button for kicks.

@Gaomon94 With the rating system, it can be put on a record, or result in banning

I agree that the youtube "thumbs up//thumbs down" system would work swimmingly. Comments that receive a significant amount of thumbs down will be flagged as spam, and hidden from the commentary. I also think that comments which receive a lot of thumbs up should appear on the top of the commentary, for "top comments".

There's also a problem in that there are so few players who post relevant comments, the spammers would down-vote every comment but theirs in order to be seen at the top.

@Shedletsky Only popular items/places get all of the spam. If you look at places that aren't easily found, the comments are very clean there.
