So, to all of those aspiring film makers and actors out there, I have some helpful tips. ANGLE SHOOTING: To make your video more interesting, instead of shooting one long film from one point of view, try cutting and shooting from different angles. You will see the difference. EX: -below (lay on the ground and shoot up) -above (shoot from on top of a ladder) [CAREFUL!] -side of face (shoot from same height, zoomed in onto their face looking directly left or right) -speaking to camera (Try not to make it seem like they're talking to the viewers, it is usually too cheesy) -over the shoulder (directly behind one character's shoulder, showing a corner of the head to show position, but focusing on the opposing actor) ACTION SHOTS: Your actors are about to have a throw down. What should you shoot? EX: -clenching fist -squinting eye -smirking mouth Try to alternate characters, showing one's eye, the other's mouth, etc. MUSIC VIDEOS: It always depends on the song! happy: If it's a female, wear natural-looking make-up and a long, flowing dress, and sit her in a field of flowers or green grass. sad: dark-ish lighting, casual or sweats, look kind of a mess, and lamented look on their face. Maybe a few shots of them and their ex-lover, before all was lost. love songs: Does the person already know? Are they already in a relationship? These variables are important. The first one could include your star looking at their crush longingly, trying to get their attention. The latter could be slightly boring if you mess it up, so be careful with that one. Have shots of them doing activities together, biking, skating, and lots of laughing. A good couple shot is eating ice cream together. Any other advice or comments? Feel free to reply!
