I love the new Group Treasury feature, but I find a few errors with it.
1. You can't donate to the Group Treasury unless you buy a Donation T-Shirt that's a Group Item. You could solve this by allowing people to donate a certain amount of tix and/or a certain amount of Robux to it.
2. The only things you can sell are clothing. Allow groups to sell Models and Decals also, because the vast majority of the companies on ROBLOX make Models, not clothes. I know people are going to say: "omg nu they will copy my modle and mkae it b 9999999 bux", but who actually buys something that costs 9,999,999 Robux anyhow?
Nobody.
And if someone knew something was a Free Model and saw the same thing up for sale, why would someone pay for it? I suppose if you make a copied model a reasonable price, people would buy it if they didn't know any better, though. Script copying, however, is very very easy. It is very easy to copy a script and no one's the wiser. You could even sell someone a blank script.
Solution: Refunds. If you delete it from your inventory, it becomes removed from any of your places if you've put it in, and you get your money back. Maybe ROBLOX could make a secret log of the assets of all the Free Models and Free Decals inserted into your place, and then remove the asset and all of its effects from your game.
3. Some groups are not companies. War groups, for instance, don't need an annoying blank "Store" tab in them. Yes, I suppose you could put your uniforms and donation shirts in there, but I suggest that if you don't have any Group Items, you don't have that tab, just like if you don't have any Personal Servers, Allies, or Enemies, you don't have those tabs.
4. The Group Treasury is only spendable on ads and rolesets. Why not allow it to be donated to people in the group? (the Spend Group Funds permission will allow you to do this, or make another permission)
Well, those are my thoughts on the new Group Treasury feature. It's not like any Admin or Moderator is going to read this.
What do you think about these ideas?

Want me to tell you what you basically did?
Described my "Group Vault" idea, that this new treasury seems to be a spin-off of. Only the treasury is lacking many features.
The treasury, + (Approx.) 2/3 this, + a few other small things = My group vault idea.
Anyways; support.

There's a big problem with your refunds idea. I could buy some model published by the group, and insert it into my place. Save the model to my hard drive as a .rbxm file (select the model > file > save). Then, simply delete the model to get my money back and use the model from my hard drive. |

Actually war groups could use the store feature and put things like their uniforms in the store. |

@pwnedu46
ROBLOX could do a check to see if the model is owned when the place loads up in play, solo or edit and then the model could automatically be removed if the model is not owned. |

@Spikey:
Buy model -> Insert into place -> Save to file -> Delete model -> Pause studio -> Insert model from file -> Save as new model.
OR
Buy model -> Insert into place -> Save as new model -> Delete original -> Re-insert stolen model.
Just throwing that out there.

@Tahu
Yes, but I'm saying the Store tab should be hidden unless you have something in your store. |

What your suggesting has problems as well. |

@jacob726
Who says you can save the model to file?
The model would probably have to be limited with what you can do to it. |
|
|
You can remove the tab. :u |

No-one said I could; but they never said I couldn't either.
I was just throwing out that possibility.

@Mikedragon
How do you remove the tab?

I think I will turn one of my groups into a fashion designing group. |

I support this... Very much. I've suggested things like this before but for some reason no one supports :P |

I like idea 1, and I think it could work.
Idea 2 will not work, there are a bunch of problems with being able to sell models and decals. There's no real way of making a decal un-copyable, and implementing any kind of system that made it so that people could use free models but not edit them would be horrible for ROBLOX and hard, and ROBLOX doesn't do refunds, then you could just send it back when you're done with it.
Idea 3 will work eventually probably, but it seems like they really just left the tab there so that people would notice the new feature.
Idea 4 is a bad one because the group funds are meant to be used for the group. They would have to make it so they could only be donated to BC members, otherwise they would create a really easy way to give money to NBC members and hurt their BC sales. Once that happened, it would just be donatable to BC members, and if you're BC, why couldn't you just get people in your group to donate to you? Or sell whatever you're selling in the group store yourself? Then people would be donating to you to do what you want with the money, instead of thinking it's going towards the group. |
|
|
I think you're misunderstanding the point of this addition. It seems (to me at least) like the new system was put in to help groups become more self sustainable and simple to manage and encourage their growth and to allow the members to be a part of that growth. Your ideas seem like they would be better suited for if ROBLOX was just trying to help people who wanted to make a profit. |

@Jacob's first reply: Just because you made a thread before he made this one, doesn't mean he copied. You don't have copyright on this idea. You can't claim it as your own. |

If you read the blog post "Responding to User Feedback V10", you'll have read the Model Selling suggestion. That gave me a brilliant idea to fix my refunds solution. This also requires me to add a new suggestion to clarify my solution:
Reputation. Each player starts out with 0 Reputation Points. The higher your Reputation Points are, the more your models are displayed in the Catalog.
You get Reputation by other users favoriting your Models or Decals.
Now, here comes the main solution:
If you find a copied model/decal that is for sale or free, you can report it. If you are found guilty of copying, the item becomes a [ Content Deleted ] and 10 Reputation Points are taken away, as well as all the money earned being transferred to your account.

@Awes: When I've made 5 different threads, all of which containing the notion of a Vault, and most everyone here having seen it once... Well, there's not much else to say, is there?
All in all, the past few group-based blog posts seem to be spin-offs of (roughly) 4 to 5 people's posts in this forum.
ColdBlood's Reputation system
My vault
Cobalt's group forum; though I am not sure whether is thread or the blog post came first.
And a few others that I will have to find after I get home from school.

Maybe if you could transfer robux into tix and tix in robux it'd be better (I don't know if you already can) |

@Jacob
The reputation and model reporting idea was Shedletsky's, I just thought I'd add it.
I haven't read your threads about a Vault.
Just because you thought of it first, doesn't mean you own the idea.
