skyrim, morrowwind, or oblivion

so i hear the elder scrolls series is good, but my computer probably won't run skyrim, but i have never played any of these games, are they good or overrated? because I'm thinking of buying one, is there any set story that i need to know about the games?

You don't need to play every single game to understand the series.Each game has a different story line set in the same world but a different time period.

Skyrim for graphics and more detailed character, shouts, new stuff, etc Morrowind for the storyline

Well Skyrim has a lot more things added to it like dragons and such, better animations ( Morrowind's animations were horrible, but then again, it's an old game ), and the landscape, which is more of an opinion, but I like it better than Morrowind's landscape.

The Oblivion game of the year edition just makes things better, it comes with 2 add-ons and the game itself for just 20 bucks. The add-ons are great, Knights of the Nine is a faction add-on, you join this group, and you recruit 8 knights and try to find the holy relics to defeat the Knights of the Nine's greatest enemy, BUT, after you have located and activated the 9 blessings in the Pilgrim's path, if you do a crime, the gods will punish you and you will be forbidden to wear the armor again until you go through the Pilgrim's path AGAIN to wear the armor again. Another add-on is a MUST its called the Shivering Isles, its a WHOLE new world new land, now I dont want to give any spoilers, but buy it and find out! You'll know if it is Game of the Year Edition, as it will say it on the front. I have it and it has very good addons Oblivion is good for the story though, but Skyrim is like an improved version of Oblivion
