This is a small poll for APN on the sub-division that is The Raven Guard. Please answer all the questions to the best of your ability. Please note that this is an opinion poll, and the answers have no particular correct answer. In addition, there will be no consequences to any answers given here.

It may be beneficial, but, I don't really know what they do. Probably kill people.

Yes, as long as they are not squads made by ranks lower than captain.

Not quite,never seen them to anything other than plan stuff out and meetings.

No unless there that important to the group in general.

1.) Yes
2.) The RG represents the best of APN, and it is an honor to be a part of it.
3.) xhafeex, heypeople2011, koolconrit, LordAttila, frankyfarrell, sim4city, ovalkyle325, and last but certainly not least, gamemastereric. (Excluding the owner).
4.) Technically, the RG does not really benefit APN, and it could be potentially harmful. However, there are other perspectives to take here, so I will state a couple that I see rather clearly. The RG can hurt APN because of the special gear they are given, and any other special privileges that might be handed out in the future. This is because it might imbalance the forts that APN use, which have, for a long time, given raiders and APN the same weapons. It can harm the reputation of APN a bit, but this is not much of a negative.
The positive perspective, which might not actually occur, is that the RG gives the skillful warriors of APN to strive for. Even if one lacks leadership, it is still possible to become a member of the RG on skill and loyalty. Besides that, the RG members themselves can motivate, inspire, and give a reason for APN to be prideful. Those super soldiers in the RG are on their side, and those are their comrades. Just knowing that your clan has soldiers that good could give you pride in your clan and the drive to improve yourself. Who wouldn't want to have the honor of being known as one of the best of APN? (Which translates to the best of the best from my experience).
5.) I normally do not support typical divisions. I believe that they should offer something unique to the group and at the same time be productive or helpful. In the typical sense, divisions don't seem to do that much. However, if it can be made to work, I'd support them. (A group of soldiers who have another name without any real special characteristics is not a useful division. Examples could be found in IoM, some of them are more elite, however, many are just divisions). Luckily things are kept active with IoM, but each division does not offer much to the clan. A royal guard, or as APN has had before, a music group, are things that do offer something unique. (Not just a collection of the average soldier).
6.) Choose members purely on their skill, loyalty, dedication, teamwork, and maturity. If they represent the best of APN's skill, then only those who are loyal and dedicated should be given that honor, however, they must also work well as a team with a considerable amount of skill, while acting mature when appropriate. I don't feel like this is the case for all of the current members, but it is true that all of them display one or more of these traits and a few display all of them. This is mostly a suggestions for the future, their ability to fight and their time spent in APN do matter. (If I joined, even with my skill and loyalty to APN, I should not get RG in a week or two).
Interesting forum. I type a lot, but perhaps it will be helpful. I don't believe you could get upset over anything I've said, and I did my best to avoid past arguments that we've had concerning the RG and its members.

Personally I elected to abandon RG privileges for myself. I've decided to make the RG privileges voluntary rather than default, so I've canceled my own benefits from it. |

One thing, two hands is for nubs. K.
No offense, I just cannot stand most guns made using two hands, and I prefer the current set up. (Even if my opinion holds no weight). Usually, it's easier to fight with the gun held by just one hand, while the other lays limp. It's simpler for the scripts, less glitchy (although sim might find ways around this), and has more character.
Your choice, but I feel like I should state my opinion on the matter before the fact. Maybe you'll reconsider, or most likely ignore this. Thanks for your time if you bothered to read this.

Sim's two handed system is rather nice and pretty fluid with how it behaves, and it took over 5 minutes of constant selecting to cause the system to break, which upon breaking it doesn't cause you to lose your arms, and the system instead reverts to the original gun holding style until you choose to reselect and fix the issue.
If nothing else, it could be made optional for people who like that sort of thing. I think it makes more sense since the gun aiming is more based on centrality with the character, instead of being based to the right.
It's just under consideration. I figure we'll do it since it's been working fine and see how people like it. |

I like the idea of optional. If possible, I highly recommend that. The best features are optional features. ;)
Anyway, like I said, I am sure Sim could make it work, and it does make a little more sense since the raycasting algorithm is mostly based on the head. (AKA, shooting around a corner with your right arm being impossible as the head is blocked).
This would create a sort of illusion and help a little. I don't know about others, but I am sure I'm not the only one with this opinion. (AKA not liking them).

Nope, I feel it just makes people feel better than others.

Nope, sub-divisions, such as the ones in RNW, lead to confusion.
