Miley should of won it though... He was in the Top 10 in every pitching statistic.

But Harper made a pretty good mark on the home runs as a teenager list. If he'd had started the season he would have the top spot right now. It could have gone either way, Miley or Harper. I'm happy with the outcome, I would've been fine with it if Miley had won, too. What I am less happy with is the AL Manager of the Year, I thought Buck had that IN THE BAG! Bringing guys up, putting them back on farms, they had a negative run differential more than halfway through the season and made it to the playoffs. I guess it could have gone either way and Oakland had the better season or something. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃ Just look at me now before I walk away. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃

And this is where I defend Melvin. The A's won the division with the Rangers and Angels. Who were both projected to be playoff teams. By June, the A's came off a nine game losing streak, and for the whole month the A's were at 9 to 10 games back of the division lead. Then the All-Star break woke up the team, having the best record since the All-Star break in the majors.

Yeah I am not really PO'd about the outcome, Buck came in second, a little recognition for a great season is fine. Again another close one that could've gone either way. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃ Just look at me now before I walk away. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃

To finish what donny said, do you know how many problems the A's had before the season? Almost nobody could hit, they traded away their best players, they had a ton of rookies, they had a HUGE stadium problem, terrible attendance...It's just AMAZING that he could've managed them to a season like that. Buck's was also great, but the obvious choice here is Melvin. Orioles actually had some talent when the season started.

Jim we had no pitching staff. AT ALL We still really don't. Jim Johnson is carrying the bullpen, Chen is the only solid starter we have. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃ Just look at me now before I walk away. ⊂=-҉Ξ҉-=⊃

The A's whole rotation at one point of the season was full of rookies who they either traded for, or drafted.
