This thread lists several survival tips on Gusmanak's very own DayZ inspired game; Apocalypse Rising. If you have played this game before than these tips might not be of use to you, but they're worth a look anyways since I have some of my very own tips and tricks that I use when I'm in my Bandit form. There is 2 well-known ways to basically survive in Apocalypse Rising, and those usually provide some well thought out ideas and little guidelines while doing so. One way to survive is to find a town/building and secure it using the Entrencher and the Building Materials found in the blue warehouses, and the grey-2 story buildings. Some hotspots for building materials are Trinity Docks, Amend, Delve, and Trinity Airfield. Securing down a small town which has little zombie spawns is a great way to survive, although there is a high risk of being discovered, and the smallest MAPPED town is Rinset, or Barde. It would take about 4 Timber to secure the streets of one of the towns, and for walls; which are more secure would also require 4 Stone Walls. Most of the time; advanced players which have access to Entrenchers tend to stay close to The Forest, or Military Airfield, or any Major town because the are searching for advanced weapons, advanced packs, etc. Therefore they don't really have much of a need to go into the smaller towns, and those who do end up going NEAR those small towns, most likely will not have an Entrencher, because of the low quality spawns in the surrounding small towns. What is most likely suggested is that using any kind of group chat, whether it be ROBLOX's party system or any 3rd Party program would be the most effective when commanding a Group, and with a group surviving in small towns will be a cinch. Another way to survive in Apocalypse Rising is to nomad around, this is the MOST common way of survival, and the most dangerous. When being a nomad in AR, keep in mind that you would be KNOWN to have potential loot, giving Bandits or soon-to-be bandits, a need to put a magazine into your skull. The Nomad way of survival is commonly used by bandits, and the following tips will provide some helpful stealthy, and tactical tips. • In major towns, it is a good idea to stay in 3rd person, and check corners for zombies. Zombies only attack when you are in an area where you can be seen. •Cutting through buildings is an effective way to loot; and stay in cover simultaneously. • You can use projectile weapons to break windows, a better choice in doing this would be a silenced pistol, as to which there would be a slim chance any nearby players will detect your gunfire. •A great way to escape an attack while in a building, is to shoot out, and jump through the nearest window, this will not only confuse the attacker, but while he/she is trying to exit the building, you have a chance to shoot back at the attacker. • Silenced weapons are an asset when infiltrating a secured building, say a group of 4 people have taken refuge in the Amend Hospital, using your silenced weaponry, you can effectively take out any undead, while maintaining stealth. Also, when infiltrating a fortification, be sure to use the window tactic, this will provide you with cover, and not raise suspicion, as to which aggroed zombies might bring upon you. • Blood bags are not only a form of health, but when you have an excess; you can use a Blood bag; dropped to store- as bait for any players who are gullible enough to walk up and forage it, you can also do the same with Campfires, although a campfire will alert someone to your presence. • Use accurate weapons to your advantage, weapons like the Mosin Nagant and M14 are IDEAL makeshift sniper rifles, if you have a steady hand. Places like Airport towers and Firehouse towers are perfect positions to set up a marksman. Keep in mind that automatic weaponry has to have a low vantage point, while the semi-automatic and more accurate have higher vantage points, to maintain a strategic combat formation. • Another great lure is the use of stashes, board up a building, and leave an entrencher nearby, within sight. Leave a crevice in the doorway of the building, with a weapon, ammo, or food in sight. This will tempt the victim to open up the building and enter; this not only allows you to kill him/her while he/she gathers supplies, but you can also win some sweet loot, regarding if the player has visited other places before reaching the doomed destination. • Befriending players is an ideal way to not only back stab, but you can gain a little win yourself. Allow your victim to join your group, get to know him/her and gain his/her trust, kill any zombies that attack him/her and give him/her the good loot. (Not weapons, mind you.) Now, let him/her know that they must play a role as well; use him/her to gather supplies, or use them as a bandit to harvest loot of off others he/she may find. Then when you decide you've had enough, murder them. c: • An effective way to lure players, is to mention a location, such as the Delve Firehouse, when you state you are in the Delve firehouse, mention you have really low health; that there are zombies outside, and you have ALOT of advanced loot. This will tempt players to try to betray you. As they go towards the location, attack them from a building nearest the given building. Instead of being in the firehouse, you can hide in the warehouse, near it. That should give you a chance to take out the gullible player. I hope these tips have helped you, as i know they've helped me. Using these tactics, I now have an MK48 with 4-7 clips, a TEC-9 and I have killed 34 players, over 400 zombies, and I am currently on consecutive day 31. Enjoy surviving the apocalypse. »VolaireVendetta«
