In a month and a half i'll have played guitar for a year ... though i don't have the best guitar, nor an electric one, i content myself with an acoustic ... which sounds just fine, lol. I want an electric, then i'll shred for real .. acoustic is hard to bend with, and hard for other things too, plus the guitar i started with (which is the acoustic and only one i have XD) had the strings too far from the bridge, so pushing the strings down on the frets is harder, but it only makes me better i guess, i got it fixed, but it's still a bit too far ... songs i've learned recently ... beginning of Rammstein's Sonne!

If its hard to push the strings down to the fretboard, then just lower the action a little. that should help.

yeah, OR get new strings and tighten them a little looser . LOL! But JAXONs way is really the best way to do that.

Lol. right. The strings thing works, too. I've tried both ways before. I have a nice hollow body jazz guitar, but the strings are really high, so its a pain to play on. I should get it fixed, too.

(continued cuz i forgot to mention this) ...it's like the side of the guitar is jabbing you under the ribs, extremely annoying (but i was sitting on a stool, though, standing up with the guitar strapped onto you doesn't have the same annoying jabs to your ribs)

Ive had the opposite effect. Acoustics are getting annoying cause im used to the looser, thinner electric strings. I get blisters when I don't use a pick. Also do any of you listen to Swichfoot? They're like my favorite band and I can play TONS of their songs.

lol that's where i get most of my tabs... the rest come from my guitar teacher who probably prints the tabs from ultimate-guitar.com too, lol i've been playing for a year i guess... what electric guitar should i get?

Yeah, that's a great site. I learned pretty much every song I know how to play on that site. I'd go with something simple, like a Epiphone Les Paul, SG, or a Fender Squire as a first guitar.

Ultimate Guitar is epic :3 I have an Epiphone Les Paul Custom. It's black and gold coloured; and it's simply amazing. Feels like the guitar is playing itself because the strings are so low.

hey deacer, for a cheap (200-500) guitar, go with an epiphone les paul or a squier strat. For more expensive (500-2000), go with a fender strat or aa gibson sg. (maybe a les paul. (you can get good epiphones and squiers (not the BEST, but...) for about 300.

I'm going to be a beginer. If I save my birthday money, I'll have enough soon. I found a guitar that is only 108. But then there is another one. I don't know what i might buy, IF i buy.
