You can go ahead with this year's batch, but next time, no.
I would rather have my skill tested, than have my fate be determined by other human beings piloting the ROBLOXians needed to get the gifts.
I would rather solve a puzzle with some help, then going off and perform demoralizing spamming so that I can get the next gift.
And don't force us to use new features you implemented and deemed impossible to use for the average ROBLOXian to use for the sake of socializing to earn the gifts. I remember http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Lucrative-Gift-of-Mercantilism-item?id=6125503, you needed to trade with the TC to get the gift. That was ok in my book, because it was skill based. Knowledge of the RoblEX was vital to get this gift, as a single trade earned the gift.
Then there is http://www.roblox.com/Commissioners-Gift-of-Commissions-item?id=99850555. You created spamming because it was entirely luck based, you had to convince other ROBLOXians to go out of their way to buy gear from your place. And then there is http://www.roblox.com/Self-Referrential-GIft-of-Referring-item?id=99850539, where you had to spam some more to be referred by either invitations to ROBLOX or BC referrals.
Examples of good gifts:
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Crimson-Gift-of-Good-Citizenship-item?id=6020380 (Being good is considered a skill),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Lucrative-Gift-of-Mercantilism-item?id=6125503 (Was stated earlier in this thread),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Aken-Atens-Gift-of-Unburnt-Glory-item?id=19036530 (A puzzle done right!),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Stainless-Steel-Gift-of-December-26th-item?id=19906092 (A simple log-in was considered skill),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Gift-of-Birthday-Fun-item?id=34115865, (Same as Stainless Gift),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Friendly-Gift-of-Facebox-Connect-item?id=41344904 (Eh, this actually made me create a Facebook account. Would have never done it had it not been for this gift.),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Retro-ROBLOXian-Gift-of-Yesteryore-item?id=41453949 (Another puzzle done right!),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Forest-Camo-Gift-of-Veterans-item?id=42141207,(Being a veteran earned you this, but discourages non-veterans, so it is deterring to newer players, but it was forgiving, so it earned a spot as a good gift),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Remarkable-Gift-of-Experience-item?id=67316178(Encourages playing games, and building in Welcome to ROBLOX Building (http://www.roblox.com/Welcome-to-ROBLOX-Building-place?id=41324860)),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Snowpacalypse-Gift-of-December-26th-item?id=68319489(Same as Stainless Gift),
http://www.roblox.com/ROBLOX-Newshound-Gift-item?id=99178000 (A simple click is all you need, you can buy it at the time of this writing!)
And now for examples of bad gifts:
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Neon-Gift-of-Self-Actualization-item?id=6144220 (Spam),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Tragic-Gift-of-Reparations-item?id=6186233 (Stalking Shedletsky (Then Telamon)),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Well-Connected-Gift-of-Linkmaster-item?id=10056822 (Link spamming),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Gift-of-Prime-Nexus-item?id=18987476 (Luck of the draw from hats),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Frozen-Gift-of-All-That-Ice-item?id=19320959 (Saying "ice" resulted in people spamming),
http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Dark-Sky-Gift-of-Hoarders-item?id=67116752 (Same reason as Prime Nexus, but now it's for owning a certain type of hat),
http://www.roblox.com/Commissioners-Gift-of-Commissions-item?id=99850555 (Stated before in this thread),
http://www.roblox.com/Self-Referrential-GIft-of-Referring-item?id=99850539 (Again, stated before in this thread),
http://www.roblox.com/Razzle-Dazzle-Hollywood-Star-Gift-item?id=99850569 (Don't trust it, too vague. Encourages F5 spamming of profile views, video views, and it stems unwanted place visits.)
These are examples of good gifts, and bad gifts. Good gifts were taken only from my inventory, some bad gifts were borrowed from the Catalog as of this writing, and some from my inventory.
All in all, please do not force us to socialize with other ROBLOXians to obtain gifts, it is detrimental and spam-worthy/community-damaging.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays! |

IMO, the best gifts were 8-bit and 16-bit gift. Both from 2010 |

@papey
I can't find them. Can you link those from your inventory? |

"http://www.roblox.com/Opened-Frozen-Gift-of-All-That-Ice-item?id=19320959 (Saying "ice" resulted in people spamming),"
Okay, yes, that was a bad idea on how to get it,
But don't scrutinize my siggy hat. >:U
Seriously though:
The number of good ideas is so minimal. They are finite. They have to, one day or another, go onto "bad ideas." They don't like repeating hats unless it's a staple or classic.
Also, not really in that dissing your opinion mood today, but you didn't really suggest any "good ideas"
It's all right saying "Make the hat unlocks good!" But not if you can't back them up with some examples. |

Yeah no support. They aren't "forcing socialization," but testing how well you're doing in Roblox. And no I didn't really waste my time on reading all that.

@frozengaia
You look great, I am not dissing the hat itself, just how to get it. Also, I provided lists containing good gifts and bad gifts and how they played their part. I hate gifts that encourage rifts in the community due to otherwise good people committing bad deeds.
@Z007
Then most of ROBLOX is horrible at socializing. Failed Commisioner's Gift because of other people, and being a dirt poor NBC. Probably going to fail the Referal gift as well.
@Everyone
Maybe ROBLOX can provide a guide in advance as to how to get the year's gifts, starting around Nov. 29-Dec. 1. |

Z007. Please don't support unless you read it all. For all you know, you might of missed something important. And support. while these gifts are fun, I do want something to bring more of a challenge instead of socializing. Profile views and place visits are good challenges because usually these are high and people can't spam because its most unlikely they would get enough people. I saw so many people saying to buy gear from their place and they would do the same. It annoyed me a lot

@coolwinky1
Profile views more than place visits. I have ~300 place visits, that's terrible for someone my character's age. |
|
|
I remember all the old gift prizes, such as the "rock paper scissor" gift, I wish we had those kind of gifts again, the ones that had a unique way of getting them. With the new features we have, we could have, for instance, a gift that can only be crafted! That would be interesting,
But, anyways,

Does this describe your response? "Neutral Response". This was a scene from Futurama, during Season 1.

TL:DR version: Good gifts needed skill, bad gifts required luck of the draw from socialization. |

In the 'Egg Hunt 2012', users had to compete with one another over eggs and such, It was a pain in the neck.
And with the Gifts, It'd be better for earned things, Agreed.

Honestly, I think that strange "out-in-the-blue" gifts seem kinda cool.
But I haven't really looked at the "bad st00f" yet. |

@Z007
Modern gifts, like the Referral gift or the Commissioner's gift, are examples of bad gifts. They tear rifts in the community by encouraging spamming. |

Support, to be honest i hate to do stuff, its like gambling when you lose it!:S, i want a nice hat thats all. |
