yes. the video he originated from had a texturepack that replaced a door texture OR a painting texture with herobrine. it's like thomas the sheep, notch decided to make a joke about it. there is no trace of code that would allow the typical "herobrine" behavior, in every single version since mid-alpha. any "herobrine" code is either made up, or people misinterpreted the human mob class as "UGM HEROBRINE"

There is also a theory that Herobrine is an actual ghost program controlled by the dead brother of Minecraft's creator. Can't say I believe that, but it sure is interesting. -/(Hail Cthulhu)\-

Herobrine is trash To think somebody would make a video, and somehow have people that actually believe in it is pretty sad. But then again, most of Minecraft's players are early adolescents with too much time on their hands.

I can't believe how people get THIS absorbed into video games. What I think Notch added Herobrine for the adventure and game or to spook people out. Either way Herobrine is not real only in the game he is, Nuff said.

If he's unfinished, then he would be unable to do half the stuff you listed. Really, it's just a copy pasta made on the forums adopted from some lesser known creepy pasta made some time ago, and Notch likes to play with his community, as if they where creatures in a drop of water.
