I, and possibly someone else, am annoyed by the fact that some suggestions have to be clouded with bumps in order for someone to see it, and the actual feedback is buried deep within the sea of bumps. However, I think this could be fixed by removing the feature where every post puts the suggestion at the top, and replacing it with a feature that allows you to "bump" a suggestion. What this will do is put the suggestion back on the top of the list, but can only be used once every half an hour by each individual account. Yes, I do realize that someone could just make accounts and bump the thread with each individual account, but the actual purpose of this is to clear up all of the bumps and letting the feedback shine through.

Seems a good balance between not being spammable, and not being too long of a wait

The whole thing of bumping is so posts get back to the top. Bump is an acronym for "bump up my post." When people post "bump" in a suggestion thread, they are pretty much giving it their support, but for no apparent reason. It's no different than someone just saying "support" in a thread. They clearly like the suggested idea, but they do not say WHY they like it. It has been said not to just say "support" but to actually give feedback on the suggestion. A "bump" button would just make more people give support with no feedback, which isn't helpful at all.

@shad Although some people do bump for support, the positive feed back of supports can let you know what the community thinks of the idea in the first place. And the first part of your comment just makes no sense, because that is exactly what will still be there, but in a new form, and people won't have to look through all the bumps to see the first "Support" or the overwhelming "No support"'s

A bump button doesn't encourage people to tell the poster what they think of the idea.

@Shad Don't you see? it's not the button itself that's supposed to encourage people to give feedback, it's only supposed to clear out the "bump" comments.

Please. They should make the word Bump not usable so this feature is what's used.

Why not only have the CREATOR bump a post, since the acronym is technically; Bring Up My Post B.U.M.P. Done.

If only the creator could bump up the post, then if the creator went on vacation and didn't have internet, wouldn't the post sink and be labeled as a "Necro bump" when he got back?

E2F (Easy To Fix) 3G. And, last I checked, a Necrobump is a bump of a thread that hasn't been posted on in over a year.

But either way, good ideas will show up less often if it's only up there once every 30 minutes.

Support but, I think it should be able to be used after the thread has gotten off the front page, but only so many times during a period of time per person. There should be a small area which if clicked, opens to a log to show all the bumps, their times, users, This displays on the bottom right of the thread original post

@Kali Good idea @boomer So apparently I defeated my self by conceding that a necro bump was a year, and that the argument was invalid. Also, I would like to say that, if only the creator could bump the suggestion, then it wouldn't be read as much, which is a large part of the S&I forums. Your threads would die much more often since you couldn't keep more than one of your ideas bumped at a time, and even then, after 30 minutes, the thread would be out and then you have to bump it in order to get it read.

Alright, how about this for a compromise. There would be an option to either make it only you bump it, or have it to where multiple people can bump it. There. Happy? My idea of only having OP bump it, or to have everyone else bump it.
