What we should have is some way to hold out on giving the game creator tix and popularity, almost like our visit doesn't count. Then, after some amount of non-idle net time on that version of a game, we would lose that option. If a person leaves using TeleportService, their time spent in the game they teleport to counts toward this net time.
This way, if you found a fake titled game, you would go to it and realize that it is completely different, then leave. and choose the option for not giving tix. If the game's title is correct, however, hating on it would be near impossible as you would have to spend less than five total minutes (or whatever amount of time) of your life for all accounts that you have, on a potentially fun game. And even if you do, there's no harm done to the creator.
I know that this doesn't fully address the problem, but it would at least get these games to not get popular, and for people to lose motives for making games with fake titles. It would also allow people to draw their own lines of what's described by the title and what isn't. And it would open up the possibility of titling a game something different that specifically draws in people who would be interested in the actual game. |
