You mean that all they're going to do is keep going with the schedule as it should have been? That's not going to happen... they'll re-do the schedule to fit their needs of a 48-50 game season, whatever it may be.

Each team needs to play the same amount of games. I'm sure it's not far off to say that if the NHL went with the previous schedule, each team wouldn't be playing the same amount of games.
