It has become very clear that our members do not know how to shorten their links. When we are shouting, the shout becomes crowded as we put more and more stuff in. Especially when we put links to places with extremely long URLs. I will simply explain how to shorten place, decal, shirt, pants, hats, models, and forum links.
PLACE/DECAL/SHIRT/PANTS/HATS/MODELS LINKS:
Normal link:
http://www.roblox.com/Advanced-Training-Simulator-Open-Source-place?id=30609151
To modify the above link, first remove the 'http://www.' part from the link.
It should now look like this:
roblox.com/Advanced-Training-Simulator-Open-Source-place?id=30609151
Next, in front of '-place' or '-item', delete everything until the '/'.
Your link should now look like this:
roblox.com/-place?id=30609151
Finally add a - in front of '-place' or '-item'.
Your final link should now look like this:
roblox.com/--place?id=30609151
FORUM LINKS:
Normal forum link:
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=80626040
All you need to do is remove the 'http://www.' from the link. Do not modify anything else.
Final forum link should look like this:
roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=80626040
Make shortening links a habit in your shouts, else I will be correcting shouts whenever I don't see a shortened link. |

If it was obvious to people then it would be common practice. Considering I have been to most super clans, members have literally no idea how to shorten links. Especially UCR. |

We can limit the shout to three links. All links must be shortened, I don't see what logic you're trying to prove by saying that longer links help keep our shout organized. |

Exactly was Valeur said. It basically saves us space and more room to add other stuff in. Plus makes the shout easier to read. |

Right, so lets wait for the training to be finished rather than finding a easier and more efficient solution to the problem.
Like I said, longer links only cram the shout. I agree that more than 2-3 links and the shout will already be crammed, but it is easy to put a limit on the amount of links per shout. |

I am only trying to limit the length of our links. We can either choose between having extremely long links in the shout with no limit at all to the amount of links we can place to having shorter links plus a limit of amount of links.

I don't see what you two are fussing about. Long links, short links. The point that you're trying to mandate this is trivial. If said shout has 2 long links in it, but there's something that is extremely important to add on, shorten the links yourself and add it. I don't see the problem. |

just right now we had a training, and because of the long link, my forum post was cut off. I resorted to shortening the link and therefore allowed links to two extra forums.
