I've seen similar features done on other sites before and I think it's a great idea. Basically there could an account option, that if activated would prevent you or anyone else who might have gained access to your account from being able to delete or trade any of the items on your account for a certain time period (ie. a week).
During that time period you would be locked out of trading and/or deleting with no way to turn back. Then once the week is up, you can trade and delete again, unless you opt to activate the option again. It would be optional, so if you frequently trade or delete then that's fine. But for the people who aren't frequent traders, it could prove useful.
It would serve as an optional measure of security. It's to prevent anyone who ever might get access to your account from deleting or trading your items for an extended period of time.
