I had posted this a very, very long time ago. But this happened to be right after a certain infamous minimod (Nobody here knows him except maybe Squid and a few of the other REALLY old guys) posted an idea completely different than mine (I'll also explain his at the end of this) and then claimed I copied him, then CD'd the thread (I really don't even know...)
So basically, this idea is strategy in warfare. This is designed for smaller, futuristic groups.
I feel like a reason it didn't stick is because, it was ahead of its time. Nowadays, we have "The Conqueors" and "Territory Conquest" on the games page, so this seems like something that could easily be obtainable.
So, strategy in warfare. Wrap your head around that for a second. This is a type of battle where no WOs/KOs are necessary, where only two people are needed to fight entire battles.
Let me explain this better:
Imagine, you're in a room. A space room, cause why not. Suddenly, holographs pop up of star ships, and a GUI pops up that displays each of your ships (Marked blue) and their powers, stats, ect. And it can also show the enemies (Marked red) ships powers, stats, ect.
This strategy game is not turn based whatsoever and they each move based on their speed. Some of them are suicide ships, some are regular battle cruisers, some shoot missiles, some are really weak and cheap, ect.
You can move them on the X, Y, or Z axis. 3D entirely. You basically position your "starting" ship wherever you want, say, on a randomly generated moon or planet. From there, you gather resources (From your planet or by colonizing other planets) and you then use their resource to create ships (To keep things simple, the materials are Metal and Power.). You need X Metal and Y Power to create a small frigate ship, X Metal and Y Power to create a massive battleship, ect.
Whenever you want, you can then attack your opponents bases. If you've ever played TA Springs, you know what I mean.
Anyway, the object is to destroy the enemies "command center". This could be tricky, because you can always set up defenses and whatnot around it to destroy enemy ships. Plus, the planets rotate and revolve around other planets or Suns (You can build a solar panel right next to the sun and basically get infinite power, but you cannot protect it whatsoever as you haven't the metal to build a defense ship/turret durable enough). If you do though, you win.
So how would battles work? Well, luck, basically. The more powerful your ship is than theirs, the higher the chance you'll win. Of course, there is always that 1/1000 chance of a tiny ship getting a REALLY lucky shot and destroying your main Flagship.
The features:
-Command Centers (The only thing you start with, land it somewhere and it creates metal and power for you to create...)
-Resource Ships (Collects resources. Armed with a tiny cannon and terrible defense. Not made for fighting at all.)
-Different kinds of fighting ships (Scouts, Runners, Bombers, Flagships, Suicide Ships, ect.) Maybe later on we can add fighters when somebody feels like scripting THAT as well as ships. But for now, just big ship V big ship.
-Solar Panels (Already explained this)
-Turrets (Small, medium, large. Nothing too fancy. Can be destroyed, of course.)
There is another variation of this, but on land. You move along the X and Z axis (Terrain is always flat) to take the fort from somebody. you get X number of infantry, X number of air support, X number of tanks, every 5 minutes or so. This one acts like regular raids, except it is a lot more fair (Tanks can and will destroy walls, air support can transport units, ect.). In this one, you automatically get resources until you run out. If the fort gets taken, defenders lose. If all raiders die before more can appear, raiders lose. That simple. Of course, yet ANOTHER variation could be on water, but that would simply be the same thing as Space battles except you move along X and Z axis'.
Now for the other kids idea: Basically, placing down defenses and turrets and stuff based on "points". This is about in regular raids, and has nothing to do with strategy whatsoever. How he thought I had plagiarized him, I will never know.
Anyways, this I think could revolutionize warfare as we know it. If we got a team of scripters to make the "base" of this (As in, everything I described) then other clans could have different systems by scripting their own special stuff into it (Fighters, asteroids, ect.)
In before I get flammed for... I don't even know. I'm just ready for it.
