To be honest, it was a really good plot twist.
Now sim, become a magician later in your life, and everything will be alright. Go into necromancy, and you can revive me.

Ok, brief explanation.
Boomer, your brother was StickMasterLuke. He dabbled into the dark arts and eventually teamed up with Telly somewhere along the lines.
Anyways, before all of that, adventurer you discovered Illumina and Darkheart, stuck in an eternal combat pose in a crumbling cave. You and your brother Stick brought them home. You gave Illumina to Sim and Stick kept Darkheart for himself.
Eventually, Stick figured out the whole story behind the swords and realized the ability to reave souls (The regenerative abilities dark has in the real SFOTH) and bring him strength. He realized he must have one 'blood bond' to be used as a barganining chip if the sword were to ever be destroyed: And it had to be someone he dearly loved.
Sim was going to be the one chosen, but Boomer refused. He and Stick got into a fight, stick made a small scratch on boomer, and boomer became the 'Bargaining Chip'. Boomer ran, as to give stick a reason to forever attempt to find him so he could beg for his forgiveness.
When Sim killed his uncle, more precisely snapped Darkheart with an energy bolt, the 'bargaining chip' was required as a sacrafice. Therefore, boomer, the one who they had found so long ago and the one who had joined them by pure fate, died, in a final act of protecting his beloved son. |
